The new Doctor has been announced and he is Peter Capaldi who some may know him from The Thick of it as he played the spin doctor.
So what does everyone think of this? Good? Bad? Or are you not fussed?

As someone that watches The Thick of It I just can't stop thinking of Malcom Tucker doing The Doctor
I think he will bring alot to the show, something that perhaps never been shown before or done
I couldnt help but laugh, since he was a W.H.O Doctor in World War Z.

I got my hopes up when Misha Collins tweeted he had "exciting news for tomorrow about the UK and phone booths." I'm not disappointed, mostly because I do not watch the show, but I would have had to catch up on everything if Collins was playing the Doctor. Now, well, we will see how much history homework it takes to break me.
I was hoping it was a woman.
He's actually been on Doctor Who before in season four's Fires of Pompeii as the father.
They've actually did a female Doctor in the parodies done in the 90's. In fact she even fell in love with the Master during it.
Maybe I live under a rock, but can someone clarify what show you're talking about?
Nonon Jakuzure - Best Kill la Kill baePretty damn great! #spoke2soonOta "The Cutest Otaku" 2016 - Lol, how's your account doing lately? Oh wait.
He could work just fine I think. The last couple of doctors have been so young it hasn't really made much sense.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
Actually, most of the Doctors have been in the mid thirties to early forties. So that statement doesn't really work. Peter Davis was the youngest Doctor until Matt Smith edged him out by two years at 28. There where only two actors who played the Doctor that where in their 50's. William Hartnell and John Pertwee.
I like him. I think he looks like a more mature version of David Tennant.

He seems very interesting, I can't wait for him to start. I'm excited to see his take on the Doctor and I really want to see how the regeneration will affect his and Clara's dynamic.

I was kinda hoping for Idris Elba but Capaldi is a brilliant actor. One of the most underrated Scottish actors of the generation.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the doctor like a women for an episode before?
