[News] Suspect shoots him self in the head, hands cuffed behind his back

A police report obtained by KAIT indicated that 21-year-old Chavis Chacobie Carter had been a passenger in a pickup truck when Officer Ron Marsh found “some marijuana” and plastic baggies in his possession. Marsh also determined that Carter had been wanted on a warrant after he missed a court date for drug charges in DeSoto County, Mississippi.

Marsh then had Carter “exit the patrol unit, placed him into handcuffs, searched him a second time then placed him into the back seat of the patrol unit.”

When the officers opened the patrol car door, they found Carter in a “sitting position slumped forward with his head in his lap.” The report indicated that Carter was still handcuffed and a small caliber handgun was sitting beside him.

It really doesn't add up with either option.

Option A: The guy hides a gun, which isn't found the two times he gets searched, somehow manages to pull it out and shoot himself with his hands cuffed behind his back. This is just ridiculously implausible. Sounds like a joke.
Option B: A dirty cop shoots a guy in his own police car, and then plants a gun and tries to make it look like a suicide. Also fairly implausible. He'd have to be stupider than a youtube comment to think he could get away with it.

Maybe if Option B backfired somehow? He thought he'd be able to make it go a way, but wasn't?

Whatever the truth is, it's always the cops that ruin everything. Like, sometimes, when I hit the cafeteria for lunch break, I find 2-3 cops lunching next to my usual table. They ruin my appetite, they do! Their mere existence is a public offense!

This story seems very, very odd.
There is the possibility that this guy actually did shoot himself but, that theory does not seem to be very believable.
I think that it was one of the cops trying to cover up shooting the guy.
