Destiny TTK

I figured since The Taken King Isn't really a DLC, but not an entire game itself, I'd make a separate thread for it. I'm just curious who is getting it and for what system? Also what are your thoughts on it so far? How well do you think it will do? Also if you are getting it, what are you excited for?

I stopped playing Destiny but picked it back up about two weeks ago and I enjoy it now. I'll be getting TTK for sure.

I have not played on my PS3 in a while, but I have a bunch of friends who are playing Destiny. So I may just jump back on and get to killing. Who knows I might get the DLC I might now. BLOPS 3 is right around the corner tho.

I pre-ordered it ages ago because there really isn't any other co-op shmups that I can play alongside racing games and stuff.

I'm looking forwards to it, personally, because of all the big changes and the new things (even if they're small things). Some friends that said that they didn't have interest in it have picked it up too, so that's always good.

On PS4 though. *shrug*.

Grabbed the game a month after Bungie released the original, well more like beta. Played like hell, then quit after 7 months of grinding. Picked it up again 2 months ago, played like hell, quit a month ago.

Now that TTK is coming I might, might get it. I just don't feel the hype. We got 17gb of update on PS4 and the changes were mostly good and sweet. If anything the new raid is what I'm waiting for and the new quest system. Also the best thing is you can return bounties anywhere.

Nice! I pre-ordered Collector's Edition of TTK last week, figured not much to spend money on games wise except for TTK, Kingdom Hearts 3, Halo 5, and STWS Battefront anways so why not get the best version right?

I like having Collector's Editions so I was gonna order Destiny's but then I realized I'm not much of a fan so didn't. Will get TTK later....too much other games atm.

Mine was $80 for the collector's lol. I dont use money on much else so it didn't matter really.

It's sort-of-DLC and sort-of-not-DLC. It's a continuation of the original game but not a whole new game in of itself.

Though considering that it's $40 in the US but £40 ($65 >.>) in the UK I do feel a smidge ripped off...

I think I may get the Collectors Edition. I got a guy at work that really wants to play Destiny and well I enjoy gaming with friends more than being a SOLO player on FPS's

Destiny is fun and i'd love to play it regularly. but at this point i would have to spend over $100 just to get caught up on all the DLC. and from what i've heard, everything in the game pre-TTK has been nerfed to the point of being useless, so it's either pay or lose.

i'm not going to pay a large sum of money every few months just to stay competitive. for someone who has nothing better to do than play video games, this is probably worth it. i have better things to spend my money on than a game i'll only have time to play a couple nights a week.

also @Ranshiin , about your comment about there being no other co-op shmups... really? if you have a PC and Steam, you have access to a plethora of cheap or free co-op FPS', a lot of which are very high quality and fair to non-paying players.

also, Borderlands. fking Borderlands. you can get 1&2 + all their DLC for the price of TTK.

As true as that comment may be, I don't think when the DLC was brand new for both 1 & 2 of borderlands could you have made out like a bandit. And by next year when Destiny is on its next set of DLC I am sure you can get TTK DLC for less than nothing.

I am going to get it and hopefully soon. I have been wanting a case for my current copy of Destiny, but I guess I can just give that to someone else.

I've 100%'d Borderlands 1 and 2 and gotten about halfway through Pre-sequel. I have maybe 1,500 hours total logged across all three of those games.

But the problem is finding co-op shmups that my friends want to play, because these sorts of games aren't as good by themselves. They don't play Borderlands any more, we played so much of it that we got bored of it and moved on. Though, if they ever say they want to play it again, we pick it up in a heartbeat. Playing it every once-in-a-while still makes us smile.
