Super Mario Sunshine

Yes. Super Mario Sunshine. I know it's a last gen game, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is all the rage now, but let's talk about Sunshine. I've searched the internet a bit and asked my friends, and they all have mixed reviews about it. So I guess my question is: Did you like Super Mario Sunshine, and explain why you do/don't. I personally love the game. I enjoyed the story, and as well getting to use a spray nozzle. Although the game had some pretty tough missions (plenty I couldn't beat), I enjoyed the challenge.

I did, it was a lot of fun. Though I tend to play 64 for 3D Mario. I'd actually play Sunshine again but I let my brother in the Air Force borrow it.

I love it. It is what made me get a gamecube and I still bust it out every now and then and play it non-stop until I get bored of it and quit again. The only mission I cannot seem to beat is Yoshi's Juice Break (I think.. last mission at the harbor) it is so frustrating, haha. Sunshine is an awesome game.

Awesome game. I love the Piantas! A lot of people hate on it because of the FLUDD, but I found it fun.

It wasn't my favorite Mario game, but that's not saying a lot. I still loved Sunshine. I actually might replay through that next while I'm making all my rounds of GC playthroughs. Though after all these years, I've never gotten all 120 shines.

Wow, I loved this game so much.

It was such a unique concept; spray a bunch of water out of a nozzle to clean up goo, refill, repeat. It's play on the "super mario 64" level system was greatly expanded on as well.

The music was fun, the levels were all very interesting and very pretty. And the best part was is that it really did capture the "paradise get-a-way vacation" theme. All in all, I would give it a 9/10

When I was a kid, I played the traditional Mario, not the one mentioned by boopaloop. Mario carries my memory, yeah, I will try it.

I did however get annoyed at some sections that seemed to involve a lot more grafitti cleaning then real platforming, thankfully most sections struck a good balance.
One thing in particular I enjoyed was the humour I noticed in parts.

But yeah..I'm in love with Super Mario Sunshine. It's like, the happiest and most colorful game on Earth. I havent finished it yet though...its really challenging. ;_; Grrrr I get so angry when I lose! xD

That was was such a fun game. I still play it sometimes because I can't beat the Yoshi Juice break it think it was (it was on the harbor).
The stages were colorful and oh so amusing most of the times. The challenges were good too...some of them I really had to think T-T
I still play it every once in a while until I get frustrated and quit for a while.
I give it a 10/10 XD

Well, there were a couple of the Harbor levels that were unusually strange.

But the amusement park levels definitely had plenty of platforming. And a lot of the "mini-levels" were quite creative.

Yeah, I loved the mini-levels (removing Fludd after getting used to the hover jump as a save was almost nasty [in a good way]). One thing I noticed is the Wii games seem somewhat nerfed compared to it, likely as motion controls aren't so tight.

You know a game is easy when your four year old brother can beat almost every boss. It was decent, but not the best. Too easy! Super Mario 64 is way superior.

I really love Super Mario Sunshine... especially for the colourful graphics, imaginative levels, and FLUDD...

Sadly, I couldn't quite put it in the same league as Galaxy or 64 though, as there was, I felt, too much emphasis on manual camera control. Also, some of the levels were a little repetative (The Pantisimo Sprint courses for instance). In the end I became skilled at controlling the camera, so it didn't bother me - but really, Nintendo should not have tried to "improve" what worked fine in 64, nor some of Mario's moves either...

But for all its faults, I respect the game for what it was trying to do. After all, there are many platformers that cannot even touch Sunshine, let alone Galaxy or 64. I own a Gamecube and would never sell my Sunshine... never! It's still one of the most fun, challenging, and rewarding games I've ever played

I liked the game, I played it at my friend's when I was like 8.
I never finished it though...
