Here are some quick findings I found from my survey:
Current Responses- 165
~64% female responses
~Most chosen answer to Q4-“have watched a few anime show and movies (1-5)”
Out of 65 responses:
~69% said anime has changed the way they view life
~58% said an anime/anime character has helped them through a difficult time
~60% said they have anime characters they see as role models
~51% said that anime has helped them overcome prejudice
~In both survey facets, people agreed that Japanese and America had “pretty” different social/cultural values
~People are more inclined to think anime is mature rather than childish
Out of 74 responses:
~50% of people can’t actually see why people might enjoy anime!
~40% of people believe the best word to describe anime is 'weird'
