It would be more fun if I wasn't in the middle of nowhere. Pokémon rarely spawn anywhere near me, mostly Ratata and Pidgey.

GameStop has started taking preorders for a wrist worn Blutooth device called Pokémon Go Plus, which will vibrate when Pokémon are near and allow trainers to catch them at the press of a button. Release date set for 7/31/16

My signature was so old it broke. RIP signature.
But your phone is upgradeable to KitKat (4.4). Do it on the settings.

Oh wait I thought you're in the US. How about using QooApp or a direct apk download?

Apparently there have been some kids walking into traffic while playing the game. No one hurt yet, but there is a report about one traffic accident caused by a driver playing.
I can't get into this sort of thing. I am too much in touch with reality.
I've heard that this game, and the people who play it, have gotten completely out of control. There have been people who do whatever it takes to find a Pokemon to catch, including tresspassing on private property, walking into trees, and even off cliffs. They are so absorbed in the game they are playing, that they don't even notice what their actual surroundings are, and where they are going. One person crashed their car because they were playing the game while driving.

The game does tell you to stay alert and to always be aware of your surroundings while playing each time you start the game. You can't really blame the game for the irresponsibility of it's players.

Know any parents who are willing to take responsibility? I know a few. Very, very few.
But just the same, the makers of these virtual reality devices should have some safety feature since there are more than a few brain dead geeks who will misuse the product. Nothing against brain dead geeks.
Hitmonchan got away from me today rip. Also I saw a Blastoise and Arcanine like the first day it came out and now I can't find anything good. These Rattatas playing hard to get when they're already hard to want.

Note that it is not virtual reality, it is augmented reality. AR overlays the game into the real world, whereas virtual reality is a completely fictional world built around you and requires the use of external equipment.
I see no reason why anyone would get hurt playing the game. It doesn't direct you where to go, it doesn't make you chase or follow any Pokémon. It shows you what's near and they do pop up when within range, but there is no direction. You simply tap the Pokémon, look around until it pops into AR, and then flick to throw a ball.
As for pokestops on private property and areas like cemeteries, they were transferred over from a game called Ingress by the same devs. The stops can be requested to be removed.

I was chasing Pikachu and ended up in a nudie bar.
From what I've heard, evolving doesn't reward xp unless it's a new pokedex entry. Also it's insane how much candy you need for Gyarados, it takes 400.
