I was like 10 years old.. And my pops brought home a classic anime I fell in love with. AKIRA!! Oh my goodness! I got drew into anime after that.
My first anime was inuyasha and after that I was totally hooked!
Sword Art Online.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Amazing series and one of my fav anime's. but a pretty depressing way to start XD
but after that i fell in love with anime.
end of story XD
My first anime was death note... definitely got me into anime, my parents didn't like me watching anime when I was younger (God knows why) so I never really saw stuff like sailor moon and pokémon when I was young
Doraemon
I can't remember, it was either Starblazers or the original G-Force dub. I'm ancient. Heh.
I think it was Pokemon, but I got into anime after watching Maid Sama!
Currently way too obessed with OHSHC.
I don't really know what was my first anime was but as far as I remember I think its was Cardcaptor SAKURA. Ever since watching that anime I tried watching Sailormoon and Pokemon. They were anime shows on different kinds of channels that's why it wasn't hard back then to find other animes.
Outlaw star was my grozit growing up. My first would probably have to be that or dragonball
Claymore was my first anime about 7 years ago. then went onto Berserk and then SAO. Pretty sad when you only watch 3 anime in 7 years.
My first anime was either Pokemon or Dragonballz not sure which XD
an Ep. of ROBOTECH; THE MACROSS SAGA on T.V. when i was around four or five years of age, right around 1985 or '86.
the episode stuck in my mind, and later on, around 1989 or 1990, a nephew had a badly painted/assembled copy
of the 1/72 transforming model kit of the VF-1S "Valkyrie" Aircraft/Mecha prominently featured in SDF MACROSS/ROBOTECH,
which he gave to me, and i proceeded to futz with and destroy in short order.
that model, and the vague young memory of the episode, stuck with me until around 1995, when i discovered the twin-episode FHE VHS editions of ROBOTECH,
available in the "Japanimation" section my now-long-gone local Video shop, and i was finally able to begin seeing the MACROSS segment of the series proper.
from there, i began branching out to MANGA VIDEO's movie-length offerings for "MACROSS PLUS" and "MACROSS II"
found my first copy of VIZ COMMUNICATIONS' "ANIMERICA" magazine there, around mid-1996.
after that, i began looking into other Anime they had available, with "Galaxy Fraulein Yuna" and "Tenchi Muyo!" being among the first to appeal to me.
finally, the Great U.S. DVD Anime Boom struck, and as a bona-fide OTAKU it was totally off to the races...

DBZ was the first anime I watched,
Avatar: The Last Airbender was the first anime I got into,
