I don't know why Dragon Ball series is "awesome", is likes by population of 5-30 yrs old? How that anime is really that popular?
Goku and his crews just bunch of muscular with all super seryia, flying around, throwing a fists their enemies, talking during the fight, yelling and screaming as dashing toward each other. Oh yeah, Freeza, Buu (weird name), Vegata are totally in same personality, I mean those tamper... My gosh, what is this show? I hope kids aren't coping from this show.

Watched few episodes, didn't really liked it, but I think I know why other people do like it. Probably because the characters are more powerful than in any other anime. Also the battles are quite big and destructive all though not so interesting.

DBZ has its moments, like Vegeta's realization in the Buu saga. But for the most part it's passable. Though Dragon Ball is a completely different beast as for most of it it's an adventure anime and shows Goku getting stronger through life experiences. That starts to change towards the end though and becomes more like DBZ but doesn't really ever really hit it though.

DB and Z up until Cell are great, if you take into consideration that they are aimed at children.

I really tried to like DB and DBZ, but I couldn't. ._.
It was so repetitive and so. much. filler. Actually, I preferred the filler to watching guys scream and throw fireballs at each other.

I probably can't speak for everyone, but for Dragonball, it was probably the fact that those who watched started from the beginning. I grew attached to Goku growing for a little kid to an adult. As for the musclemen thing, it's true. But the way I think about it is Goku is pretty much the superman of Japan. His story's well known and it has a huge fan following. Not to mention that in making the manga, Toriyama became the inspiration for countless mangaka in the country of Japan, so even though you might not like Dragonball, you had better damn well be happy that it came out or else anime and manga in general wouldn't be where it is today. Fact.
