how come most the modern rpg animes focus on demons??? where is angels?

Demons in anime have been a thing for a while now... I'd expect that in anime rpgs too... just sayin'.

Yes, I have realized this, too. Even the hottest mmo game, New World, is focus on demons/monsters... I don't know why

1. Evil is more fun. We can fantasize about doing things which we would never do for real. Just ask any actor if it is more fun to play the villain than the hero. Most will say the villain.

2. Evil drives the story. If there was no evil, there would be nothing for the good guy to do.

Note that I cannot vouch for most of the list. Some I have heard of, but only one I have seen. The one I have seen is Neo-Geneses Evangeleon, and I didn't like that series at all. I hated every character.

First off according to Christians Demons are angels. And some angels have like 6 heads none of which look human...

 

Also the head angel is generally known as "God". Or Michael, Lucifer, or many other names.



Second Angels don't exactly make great protagonists and the nice ones tend to leave us the heck alone. Also they can be little judgy, just ask anyone from Sodom... whoops.

Third except for one guy who wrestled with one and beat it, fighting angels rarely ends up going well for anyone. And when it does Christian groups tend to complain.

Fourth I've seen MANY animes with angels in it as both heroes and villains. The Devil is a Part Timer, Bastard!!, Devil Lady, Evangelion, Final Fantasy, Oh My Goddess, Macademi Wasshoi, Queen's Blade, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Disgaea, Stray Little Devil, Hellboy, Bludgeoning Angel... and that's not counting just anyone with a pair of wings or a halo (Hi Goku! Hi half the cast of Card Captor Sakura!).


You probably just haven't looked them up.

In a lot of anime god wants us all dead. And he often sends angels to do it.

Five, a lot of anime are based on non-Christian religions like Shinto or Tao or whatnot, so they don't have angels.

I mean here's the thing: Angels are mostly associated with good, demons are mostly associated with bad.
Funny enough, our mind tends to be attracted to dark, evil, secret stuff. For some reason those things intrigue us more than good thing. Even in reality, bad, controversial news are often more popular than good, positive news.

I'm saying this does not mean that humans are inherently bad. What I mean is we human wants to know evil thing from a distance. We are intrigued to know what it is. But of course it's not great at all if we become evil.

That said though I do see a trend in anime recently that authors want to change the perspective of demons simply being a humanoid race rather than evil, disgusting monsters.

I am not so sure that is a new trend. We did see it in Inuyasha, and it continues in the follow-up Yashuhime.

Again Inuyasha was based on the Shinto religion. Half the main cast are priests or priestesses. They don't really do angels.

There were plenty of gods though. Which by definition are better.

Probably I've read too much Isekai stuff. There are so many isekai manga that has this trope.
E.g: Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai, Overlord (though technically the guy is not exactly evil but his "children" are), Konjiki no Wordmaster, etc...
