Let's get the disclaimer out of the way.
This is not a place discuss what you believe in and whether it's wrong or right. This is not a place to belittle the beliefs, or lack thereof, of others. This is not a place to argue about the validity of experienced reality, scientific evidence, revealed truth, or any other source of potential knowledge. It's about what you think and how you feel.
Great. On to the thread.
Why do you believe? This is not necessarily about the way the world works or any other single specific thing. If there is evidence that seems to contradict your faith, how do you reconcile it with what you know to be true - or do you try to at all?
How do you deal with people that put you down for your beliefs? Not simply those that disagree, but those who seem to feel that you are a worse person than they are for thinking the way you do and will take any opportunity they can get to remind you of that.
What makes you believe in the people around you? Does your faith in friendship, or in family, survive those who betray your trust?
What sparked this thread is the idea of faith itself. Some stuff that's going on in my life has made me question what I think about the idea of believing in anything at all. I thought it might be interesting to see what others here have experienced and decided.
