Have you ever been conned, cheated, or ripped off?

Sunday I ordered Pizza and I gave the guy a cash tip and put a zero with a slash through it on the tip part of my credit card receipt. Sadly, I threw away my receipt like a dummy. Well it cleared my bank for $4 more than what my pizza cost so basically the guy tipped himself an extra $4 without my permission. Hopefully I can get it resolved!

Years ago, I got an email that said I had to re-verify my paypal and to click a link to verify my information. (Which they don't do by email FYI). I stupidly clicked the link and the next thing I knew there was bank account was drained. (Luckily this was reversed by the bank with no trouble but now I am much more careful!)

I can remember a few times people tried to pull a fast one on me, like this guy tried to do at a gas station, I gave him a 50 and I think all together with gas and the snacks I bought it was $35 and he tries to give me 5 back and says have a good day...how retarded do I look like seriously. And don't get me started at how much they charge for crap at six flags it's almost $3 for a 24 oz soda it's insane

I had a U=Haul truck with all of my recording studio equipment in it stolen...worse yet my friend didn't get $19, I repeat $19 insurance on it. I was out about $15,000 in musical equipment. Ahh...$19. I still get bent thinking about it and it was 7 years ago!

When I bought a McD value meal. It was supposed to go with a coke but I didn't check. They only gave my food, no drink. When I was at home, I checked the receipt. But too late, I wasn't coming back to ask for a coke. There goes my $1. But it's not a big deal to me, really.

Ok a friend of mine once ripped of a shop keeper, horribly.
The set up:
my friend and some others went to a gaming store to buy magic the gathering cards in whole booster boxes. Now these sell at around £90 if you were to get all the packs indevidually, and usually when you get a whole box, the price drops by abpout £15 - to £75.
The resulting price:
after confusing the poor student attendent at the till my friend managed to get the price of each box reduced to £40 each - rather a saving would you say

Ok the story is the opposite of what is asked, but it still goes to prove that in this day of barcodes and computers that it is still possible to get a good deal on things - and that student attendants at shops should never be left unsupervised

So we go to McDonalds i order a chicken selects meal 3 piece with a sprite and everything, normally i check the bag to make sure everything's in their, but this time i didn't because i'm thinking 'they should know how to do their job right'

... so when i get to the place i'm going to i open the bag, and only see my chicken selects, a straw, my sauce, and some napkins.

I instantly go off, "OH NO! THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME MY FRIES!!!"
And my mom replies, "You didn't look in the bag??" "No... -_-;" "Well, it's too late now..."

And so I'm eating mad, because i was still starving aftyer i drunk my soda and ate mmy chicken selects. STUPID MCDONALDS WORKERS! >.<

Yeah, so that's like the only time i can remember getting ripped off. >.<

Ah magic cards I remember the good days of buying boxes..good times.

Anyway okay so I go to walgreens a few hrs ago cause it's 24 hrs y'know so I go in grab a few monster's go to the candy section grab my usual mike and ike's and a bag or reeses pieces or whatever and so I go to check out and it's some young guy with a bad disposition.

So yeah he's ringing up my stuff right and he says the total is blah blah blah and i'm like right okay here you go and right as I hand him the money and get my change I see one of those huge cookies that sometimes are good but other times way too hard and stale to eat (you know the ones) so i'm thinking oh yeah I gots to have 1 so I pick it up and say yeah can I get this too?

Now he looks at me quite irritated and says if I want it i'll have to go to the back of the line so i'm thinking ugh fine there's only 2 people behind me no big deal so I leave my previous items there and head to the back of the line to pay for my delicious cookie.

The two people check out fairly quickly and i'm back at the counter again so I set the cookie down for him to scan it and say that'll be blah blah blah so I pull my wallet out again when he says that will be $16.48 and i'm thinking whoah WTF why is it almost $17 for a cookie so I asked if he could repeat what he just said, he says $16.48 again...i'm just standing there baffled when I mutter how is it THAT much for a cookie.

He responds you got the cookie and the rest of this stuff. He tried to charge me TWICE for the stuff I had already paid for before. I respond with what are you talking about I already paid for that stuff and you know I did.

At this point he has the audacity to respond with "I don't remember you paying me for it"...I don't know if this is some kind of youth rebellion or some sort of new amnesia or short-term memory thing but I eagerly ask to see his supervisor right away.

The man comes out I explain to him what had happened and show him the receipt for the good I had already purchased. The supervisor apologizes and refunds all of my money stating "I'm sorry for this inconvenience and the matter will be dealt with thoroughly". Having gotten away with $17 worth of stuff free I happily trot along back to my car.

Don't know what's gonna happen to that worker but I wouldn't mind getting more free stuff my next visit.

And that's my long and agonizing story of an angry teen and my free swag. As I sit here now posting this, drinking my monster, and eating this delicious cookie I can only think of what possesses people to think they can always get away with stuff like this? I really would like to know.

Oh, many times. My dad's family constantly rips people off. Only two of his siblings are hard working, and he has 7. Once, we paid my aunt, a divorcee, about, meh, $5000 for some things. She said she would pay us back, but she never mentioned when. So we lost 5000 to her just so she could go shopping for ridiculous things. We never gave her money again.

Stolen: Well one time I let my friend borrow my Gameboy color and he gave it to me at school *this is where it happens* I put it in my backpack and when I left school at the end of the day it wasn't there. Someone else knew it was in there and probably went looking and succeeded >_> I knew it wasn't my friend because he doesn't have the guts to lie to me. Anyways that was in grade 4.

I had $3,000 charged to my credit card at an airline in Abu Dhabi. It was done in 3 separate charges over two days.

I did get my money back, but that was a very frustrating week.

The rule of thumb is never more than 1.25 because that's enough to get a soda. We all do it to each other so we'll get it back eventually.

See, I have this bad habit of buying stuff off of Ebay, and not checking it for a couple of months after getting it (usually anime, which I have no time to watch, so I usually find out months later that the DVD's are screwed up). The most notable of these is the time I bought a GuildWars Factions Collector's Edition (PC game) on Ebay. It cost me maybe $60 (not too bad, considering they're upwards of $100 now). The CE of Factions comes with a nifty special dance and a really expensive minipet (costs about 135k ingame to get one). The description said the box had been opened, but that's all it said so I gave it a go. When I got the thing, I was really busy and not playing GWs for awhile. After the time had expired for me to be able to leave negative feedback, I checked the thing. It included a piece of paper that had the account name and password on it. So I couldn't even add the access key to my account, so no nifty dance for me. OK, fine, what about the expensive minipet? I collect that particular minipet, so I figured yay, one more! When I check the account... no minipet. It said it had already been created. So apparently the guy had created the minipet and sold it, and put the money on another account. I ended up giving the account to a friend of mine so she could play. So much for that idea.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Dragonball Z DVD's I ordered are not Japanese language with English subtitles, because the box says something about French audio. ^<__<^;; I paid a lot of money for those DVD's... but again, I didn't even look at the box until like a month after getting them. I still haven't checked to see if they really are in French... :\

I'm slowly learning my lesson, though. I just ordered a really expensive crystal figurine (I collect these things for some reason), and I opened the box as soon as it came to make sure it wasn't broken or anything. Which it wasn't, so yay.

I've never been ripped off, but my wallet was stolen from me once.
It was in Czech Republic and in a tram. When I stept out of the tram I noticed that my bag was open. When I checked inside it I noticed my wallet was gone, luckily I had nothing inside my wallet except some loose change, library card and my atm card. I called my parents they blocked the card. And I was on my merry way again.

I almost forgot one. I once ordered an FMA wallscroll off Ebay. I have gotten many wallscrolls on there but this idiot never mailed it and kept giving me excuses so I never got it but I paid for it. Luckily I was only out $10 but still... I would have filled a complaint with paypal but it was passed the 60 days. I did give him negative feedback though.

Let's see.. Cable internet. It works 80&#37; of the time, the other 20% seems longer then the 80% of the time it worked. Especially when it let's you access the web, but not the AF chat room or WoW.. at least at the moment. ._.;
