I bet you don't even know what Limewire is.
Pathetic summer child.
: The Game. You just lost it. :
My signature was so old it broke. RIP signature.
Ah, yes, I remember this! One of my better memories from my early Internet days. (I've always had a soft spot for pirates, and I still do.) It's the first time I've seen it in probably six years and it sounds just like I remember it! :P
I can't say I know what Limewire is, either.
But my day did get a little better seeing this. I am pirate-inspired now.
Has it really been out that long? Man... Well I guess that makes sense seeing as it's LimeWire and not PirateBay or something.
For those that don't know, too young to remember, etc. LimeWire was a downloading program that people used to pirate movies, music, etc. It was also heavily infected with viruses and other malware opposing as or hidden in the things you wanted to download. Which is what helped lead to it's downfall.
Six years is a rough guesstimate, but considering how long I've been fiddling around on the Internet, it's entirely possible it's been that long or longer... xP
You know what they say -- you learn something new every day! I guess that means it's not even referring to pirates in the sense I thought it was... but that makes it funny!
It does go on a bit long. I did not stay until the end.
Besides, Pirates are not free. Andrew McCutchen is getting $13 million this year.
Famitsu: I like you. Want to join my stable?

Actually, I know what both of them are. Limewire is one of the earliest Torrent clients. Of course, the original BitTorrent was the first Torrent client. uTorrent is the successor to BitTorrent, and came long after Limewire.
Now eMule is a completely different system. Actually eMule is the client, eDonkey2000 is the system that uses the eMule client. It is very to the Torrent system, but it requires much more manual intervention to set it up. Instead of Torrent files that provide all the info needed to find a tracker, that in turn has IP addresses of all the seeders, with an ED2K file the individual trackers are NOT included in the file (only the names of the video files or other pirated media that's to be downloaded, and their hashes or CRCs for error checking). The only way to know which ED2K trackers to use, is to search the piracy site that you found the ED2K file is on, and hope that the same person who posted the file, also posted the tracker URL. Without that, there's no way to access the tracker, and without the tracker there's no way for eMule to find the seeders and start downloading from those seeders. Unlike with Torrent system, where there are a few centralized trackers (such as OpenBT) that everybody uses, eDonkey2000 has THOUSANDS of trackers. Each pirate runs his own personal tracker, as well as a file server to host his files. Also, as it's a different protocol than Torrent, eDonkey2000 requires you to use a different client software (eMule being the most common one). Because it's SO FREAKING HARD to find the right tracker and server IP addresses for what you are trying to download (it's a LOT easier to find the individual ED2K files than it is to find the other required info), I VERY RARELY use eDonkey2000 for downloading stuff. That's why the Torrent system is much nicer. It has EVERYTHING needed to start the download, stored right in the .torrent file itself.
The ONLY times I've used eDonkey2000 are for SUPER RARE animes, that are SO RARE that they (at least at the time I tried to find a download for them) didn't even have a Torrent available for them, anywhere at all, not even on Pirate Bay. Right off the top of my head, I can only remember one anime that I ended up resorting to using the stupid eDonkey2000 system to get a copy of, and that was to get a copy of one episode of the ULTRA RARE anime called Mahou Tsukai Sally. And unlike the Torrent system, where somebody usually starts seeding within a couple hours of you starting the download process, on eDonkey2000 it took like a couple DAYS before somebody started seeding it. At first, when it didn't start downloading immediately, I thought I'd made a mistake in the configuration settings, or had put in the wrong file server or tracker IP address for the particular pirate who had this anime episode.

Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.
