So I am sure we have all heard of the mandela effect at some point in our lives. If not you have some required reading to do. http://mandelaeffect.com/

Anyway, this thread is for sharing any instances of the mandela effect you may have come across. Mine is fairly common. I remember it being the Berenstien bears rather than the Berenstain bears. I also remember the non-existent jiffy peanut butter when I was a kid.

Berenstain is an unusual spelling. I bet the family name of the authors at one time was Berenstien or maybe Berenstein, but the immigration official filling out the paperwork misspelled it. I have known families whose names were changed that way.

The final book in the Berenstain Bears series: The Berenstain Bears Visit the Taxidermist.

A few months ago I freaked out for a moment thinking I was suffering from the mandella effect. But it just turned out the company changed the products name. All my life it was Little Debbie Nutty Bars, and now it's Nutty Buddy's.

Nope, they actually interviewed the family that created the books at one point, who insist that the name has always been Berenstain. Many people remember it being Berenstain as well, ...we call them the "others"

Oh, i think that just summed up the plot of the story. That way i won't have to bother reading about it.

Also, I think this whole Mandalhylamma effect is just plain bogus! It's not very clear what site owner is trying to get to with it (plus, she started this whole thing over Dragocon), and it's just fonded on pop figures and commercial names. Of course those things change their names/stories under your noses: Looney Tunes has been re-spelled and copyrighted, to do a little rebrand, and Mandello died and has been replaced by a shapeshifter, to continue his cult-worship effect. Need i clear out the rest of the list?
Bogus theories for mental junk to keep us chasing our tails, fiendishley scheemed by the Dragoconnian people!

',:l Apparently I'm an other? lol

But no, The books have always been Berenstain. Though, if you consider the fact the Berenstein is also common and people trying to write the title from memory rather than reading it as they write then it's easy to make the mistake. Granted while @PictureGuy is right about immigration misspelling names, this case didn't happen with the Berenstains. But those in bookstores, libraries, publishers, etc. who try to recount the name could easy misspell it enough times to create this Mandela Effect.

Think of it this way, the difference between Michael and Micheal. No doubt, you know plenty of Michael's and plenty of Micheal's. But when you first start writing it down from memory, you'll probably write it based on either the last time you had to spell "Michael" or from how the closest "Micheal" you know is spelling their own name (particularly the case with a close friend or family member). And there have been cases where someone writing something towards the books (maybe reference information for cataloging or selling, a book report, or even a critique) that has become published for everyone to read, and it has Berenstein instead of Berenstain.

As for Jif and Jiffy. Jif was always the Peanut Butter, Jiffy is a vague reference of a relatively short time (like taking a second or a minute, but not actually a legit second or a legit minute) and Jiffy Lube knowing for servicing your vehicle quickly and getting you back out on the road in a Jiffy. It doesn't help that folks that watched TV in the '90s and early '00s were inundated with commercials for both Jif and Jiffy Lube.

With the Nutty Bars and Nutty Buddy's, if memory serves me incorrectly the term Nutty Buddy had be a semi-common term for them in various areas for a long time and Little Debbie just seize on the opportunity for marketing. Kind of like Coke. It's always been Coca-Cola, but people kept calling it Coke and Coca-Cola seized on it with marketing. But I could be wrong on that.

With Pikachu, I haven't really bothered to care enough to notice... Perhaps, and I'm just throwing this out there, there's a few animation stills with Pikachu sporting the black tail? Either as an error or to be used as a form of shadowing and movement transition of the character and their tail? Thus if you stop the cartoon(s) at the right moment, you'll find a black tail. Or you're just so transfixed on Pikachu's ears that you think the tail matches.

Another one I was reading about, was Queens "We Are the Champions" and it ending in "We Are the Champions... Of the World!" Apparently people think it's supposed to end on "Of the World"... But while the majority of the song trips a listener up with multiple "We Are the Champions... Of the World!" throughout the song, it only ends on "We Are the Champions!" Don't believe me? Break out the vinyl from 1977 (the News of the World Album or the "We Are the Champions" Single) and listen to it.

Well, in the case of anime, when the show Mazinger Z came to the US in the early 80s on network television named Tranzor Z, all information that I look up today says that they never aired one scene with Aphrodite A displaying her rocket "chest missiles", but how is that possible that they never aired it if I know and saw it myself when I was little? I've never watched a bootleg or something recorded outside of the US. It was all through Southern California network television.

I guess this would be a reverse Mandela; whereas I know of something that was not suppose to be known to the masses. It's a little weird that I know this. Maybe the info I read was wrong and the show did air those scenes. Would this still cover under the topic?

Allright, then. @DethBlad-166..3.6611! made a few more points that unravelled more inconsistencies in this fake inception theory. Maybe enough to raise some scowling at?
Reading between the lines of these Madahlla stories, it sounds to me more like a conspiracy theory reacharound. I think the only worthwile lesson to learn from this is how even the slightest alteration of the commercial good/influencial celebrities-'s appearance/given information can produce powerful mass-effects over the years.
That, and also, they didn't cite Duke Nukem's cock.

Not quite, Syndication is always funny like this with anime. I've heard that while Three B. Productions Ltd produced their own English dub of 65 of the 92 episodes of Mazinger Z to be called Tranzor Z, an earlier English Dub of about 30 episodes was produced in the late '70s and aired in Hawaii; which was closer to the original than what Three B. Productions LTD made. Syndicated channels poorly track any of this and things could have been mixed up somehow. Or presumably being that you're in Southern California, you could've caught some channels from Hawaii in the same way Hawaii got most of it's TV from the West Coast (particularly via satellite) and they happened to air their earlier version than the real Tranzor Z.
