Battle of the Month July Phase 4 Results

And here we are! The final battle... to decide a winner. The... only battle really. Given that the theme is freestyle, and we are judges, and that these two entrants were in our previous contests to get to this point, our judges arent going after simple things in the entries like its flow or color. We are also looking at how these entries stand against the other entries these two have made. Basically, looking into their styles (freestyle theme and all).


FINAL BATTLE: Ardelia vs Seung-li










This is a very special case for us. In the process of singly looking at each individual tag, the judge and myself took into account that both entries are very similarly designed. Both use large sizes, while having too much negative space. Both entries have little flow. Both have focus that clearly stick out in terms of the overall entries. Its also kind of likely that if you were to take either entry, invert the colors, you would get the other entry.






We found this interesting.

On their own merits, Ardelia is playing to the strength of the stock's colors. But does little in terms of flow to contribute to it. Seung is overflowing with her usual use of textures and stock images. And we see flowers. Again.

Both entries, the judges find, are pretty par for the course given the users.









So... we pick one.









We're going with Seung-li because the entry is a bit more interesting to look at. Sort of like one of those little can you find such-en-such in this image?
