I know what you mean. I'm thinking about cutting FB down to a once a week thing for myself.

I don't want to cut anyone from my friends list as most of them are good friends from my military days, school, work, prior job, and even AF. But I don't want to spend all day on there either.

Yeah I mostly only use FB to stay in contact with my Texas friends and my family (since I don't even use my phone that often) and to scroll my news feed when I'm bored.

I mainly use it to screw around with a few pages. It's pretty much dead at this point, and it's all recycled memes.

Same here...actually, a couple of days ago, a friend was showing me a funny vid about a person dressed as a bear attempting to scare his co-workers out in the mountains...he kept watching it and thought it was hilarious. He went to show me and I said yeah, super funny...I had actually seen it I think last year or something? He was like, makes sense considering how many views it has.

Anyway, I was just surprised this was still a sticky on the main page, when in reality, the pages don't even exist xD

Groups tend to fail. We've had an AF youtube channel, AF tumblr, AF FB group, AF steam group, AF PSN group. Pretty much anything you can think of AF has had a group on it and I mean I join them but I never did any socialization on them and neither did anyone else as time went on. It's offsite effort and is meh. Plus we have groups here ON animeforum and hardly anyone uses them anymore either.

This and the realchat era sticky could probably be put to rest at this point xD lol.

To be fair though, much of that failed because it was handled by a single staffer that lost interest overall (for whatever reason) and never handed the responsibility over. I mean the AF Tumblr page had like 3 posts and then dropped; and then those of us still interested in making it work couldn't get access to the page to make posts and stuff ourselves.

If we decide to dig into such things again, we really need to look at how we're going to control the page and allow others to post on it to avoid someone just giving up or forgetting it exists and letting it go again.

I hate to use a competing site as an example, but A4's FB page (better than the site, funny enough) works really well and does just about everything we had hoped to do with ours back then. So it can be done, we just have to be smart in how we do it so that it works right.
