If you were to write a story, where and what?

I'm thinking of as soon as I get some money I'll buy a laptop and then spend my time writing in a library, they already have louds computers. But I'm not sure if they ask money for it, but it certainly has internet there. I'm a person who loves sitting around lots of books and a place where there are silence. I also love sitting somewhere where I haven't been before. Gardens, restaurants and libraries(second hand shops aswell). My idea of a story is it has to be a bit complicated, drama is ok, but don't sugar coat the romance. Sometimes its rare to find what your looking for in real life. I'm sure the story you write is also to do with what you's like the world to be like (future, past or present).

My best stories is in modern and fantasy, sometimes I use to write sci-fi, but I'm not 9 anymore... I seem to have lost some of the drive to write all the plot ideas. I'm in production with two/three stories. I also saw a cellphone that comes with a ipad for only R390 a month... my sister says a ipad is about 3000 or more... O_O

I write my stories since bellow the age of 10, and since about last year I've been working on some fiction series I want to publish - first bool is already done and the second getting close of it -, problem is I also spend lot of time without writting, frequently months.
But as for the place I prefer calm ones in which I can concentrate, so my room is perfect :P
Also when I go to my vacation house near the beach, by the summer, it's also a great place for writting

That is my biggest problem. I have dozens of works in various stages, but as soon as I get bored/distracted, I move on to another one.

I want to set up an extra desk in my bedroom when I get the money. There is no Internet and television in there, and it would make it easier to convince the Hubby to give me some quiet time.

I'm currently working on a historical story about civil right and discrimination, I'm even getting information on those times from older relatives experiences.

Ooh, sitting in a library writing a story sounds absolutly relaxing right about now! I do have a story i would like to work on, however i would only benable to do so if i had my own computer.

I used to really be into writing stories a few years ago, because of this I have many unfinished on my laptop, which sucks very highly. I think due to my university commitments I have been thinking of writing more plays and scripts now though. I like to people watch so for me i spend a lot of time being around people, this gives me the ideas then I write about them in a quiet area such as my room.

I write almost constantly. My problem is that I get too many ideas so nothing longer than a couple pages ever gets finished. I've finished probably 12 short stories and I have at least 7 others in progress. Genres vary greatly. One is sci-fi, most are fantasy, some are horror, some are realistic, some are drama, one is sheer comedy (only one because I suck at comedy), and some are mixes. My favorites of the unfinished, longer ones that I am determined to finish someday, however, are both horror and one is also fantasy.

I can do my writing anywhere, really. The notepad on my iPod is full of my stories from when I'm sitting bored somewhere and get random inspiration. I prefer to do it alone somewhere quiet, though. Being outside helps a lot, too, especially if I'm out of any sort of city (which is easy since I live out in the middle of nowhere in farm country). I also get a lot more inspiration and my writing is a lot better when it's done at night.

I'm writing a book of my own too! It's mix of modern and fantasy. I also have two other stories I'm working on as well to a lesser extent. One thing I found about writing a story is that you'll change a lot more of the originally outlined plot than you'd ever realize. With that said, I can wait until I have my book finished.

Also, yeah, I have a bit of writers block every now and then I like do too

I already write.

I've actually been writing for some ten years or so ... more as a hobby than anything, although if I could I would have already converted it into comic form and uploaded it as a web-comic. By 'it' I mean my present project which is the work of a role-play I'm in with a friend, where I'm essentially translating the role-play into novel/fiction format. It's pretty good reading but I'm not sure people would want to read it as I'm aware my grammar and stuff is bad and there are a lot of mistakes.


Still ... there's that, and a stalled project I used to work on that is mostly finished, but was in the process of being rewritten until I got bored of it.


I tend to write action/fantasy-type things. Both the ones I've been working on are of that genre; a sort of combination of action, a little drama, a little comedy and some supernatural elements. My older one is set in a 'real' world but the one I'm working from an RP on is set in an alternate world (it's best described as sitting somewhere between Skyrim and reality). Both contain things like magic, fantasy creatures such as dragons and a good deal of fights.


I actually try to write competently although my grammar and writing skills aren't perfect, but as an example my old project was at a good 800-ish pages in length. The current project (the one based on an RP) is still in progress as the RP isn't yet concluded, but I've written 4 parts and they've gotten up to about 500-550 pages in total so far ... so the writing's fairly lengthy and there's a deal of detail and description ... if it does mean that some things might seem drawn out or overly complicated. Oh well, it's just the way I write.

yeah i wrote that it's the 5th chapter... the story is a technothriller that has comedic rants and the love i've been givin or gratitude from the peoplei have met in my life... that particular passage is about a woemn who said she loved me about 3 months ago, but when i said we were just friends has ignored me ever since... even though i call her like once a week and leave happy messages expressing myself in creative ways while wishing her the best cause she found a new man... my plan is to wait about a month and a half and see if she answers the phone on my birthday and tell her that i am thinking about her cause i've had the strongest feelings for her out of alll the woemn i've talked to and well there are a lot of emotions that she brings out in my writings cause i used to be very depressed and she told me something that allowed me to smile for the first time in a month during the blue phase... so i mean it's tough... but i want to visit her because i have never seen her and she deleted her facebook and basically dissapeared... so yeah i don't know what love is so in that regard i'm trying to date special woemns which isn't workn out very well or at least getting the meetthem but once we speak it's all good i just think about her though on most occasions and talk like it was her... it's sad when i hear her voice on the radio but when i make it she will hear my voice and i'll kick her too the curb X_X. uh having men to talk to would be nice as well

Ah ah, can be a nice option though I'm more like 500 pages-style xD

My first book (I made one longer one but don't really like it now as I was 14 or so the time I wrote it ) is 550 pages long and the second is almost 500 now and will probably surpass it

I like writing fantasy stuff. Mostly medieval sorta stuff, but somewhat more modern. I had a lot of (50/50 good/bad) stuff on my laptop before it died, so meh. For the most part though, I just imagine stories in my head and write them out later. No fanfics though...I've never really liked them. I'd post some stuff, but yeah...I'm lazy.
