Long or Short Conversations?

Q: Do you prefer long or short conversations?

Personally, I only have long conversations with a loved one or two. If it's someone who's chatty, then that can get annoying quick; I've literally walked away from someone talking for a long stretch of time.

Short conversations? If it's someone I like talking to, it being brief isn't so bad. If I dislike the person but want to remain cordial, I'll say "hi" and then be on my merry way.

Long in general I suppose, but it really depends on who I'm talking to and the quality/scope of the topic. When talking to family and close friends my conversations tend to be long - that's just me, but when talking to someone in a position of authority I don't like to hang around and would rather keep it short.

As long as we take turns talking, don't cut each other off mid-sentence, and don't go off into an hour long monologue, then I don't mind if a conversation is long or short.
