Whats everyones fav dark themed anime?

Mine would have to be ergo proxy and deathnote. Loved every minute of them!

Neon Genesis Evangelion. I think the giant robots (okay, not technically robots, for the purists out there) make a lot of people tend to forget how genuinely straight-out depressing that series is at times.

Serial Experiments Lain. Well, one could argue (rather unconvincingly) that the theme is not that dark, but the lighting sure was.

The first Ghost in a Shell movie. The tone got continually lighter as the series progressed onto TV format, but some of the imagery from the first movie was pretty haunting.

NGE is pretty dark, Ergo Proxy was very much so (a total skull fornication at that) and my current most darkened one would be Shigofumi, the first episode alone was mind boggling.

~_~ Hm.. there was one I liked featured in the Monthly Betsuhana, but for the life of me- I can't remember the name. It was done by Kaori Yuki, that much I can recall.

If not that one, then it's DOGS; Bullets and Carnage. ( Oh come on, lots of blood and violence. What more could you ask for? )

I'm watching gilgamesh atm and its pretty cool. thinking of watching black blood brothers next. Anyone seen it? Is it worth the watch?

My internet has reset for the month so bring on the streamed anime.....yay! Lol
