Eight pointed circles...
Yeah, I know they're called "octagrams". I can't help noticing that in every good show I see, an eight pointed circle seems to appear. Big part of some books too, like Discworld. Symbol for Primal chaos.
Anyone else seeing this?

Maybe it's an eightfold path thing if it crops up a lot in eastern popular culture?
In general, the human brain is very good at pattern-finding. So good it will easily find patterns that aren't there, if you go looking for them. It's called apophenia. Confirmation bias is an important part of this too, you only tend to register the (relatively few) instances of the pattern emerging, not the innumerable ones where it doesn't.
