I think this is great. Female voice actors (like one of my favorites, Veronica Taylor, who voiced Ash in Pokémon) taking on male roles in anime, particularly adolescents, is so cool!
What do you think of that?

My Wi-Fi, it's gone out . . .
What is rare is male voice actors doing adolescent male characters. Pre-puberty male voices are high pitched -- like a woman's.
Voice actors Joshua Seth (Tai Kamiya from Digimon) and Veronica Taylor (Ash Ketchum from Pokémon) were so convincing and believable at playing young characters that I was in shock a few short years later to find out they were adults portraying these characters. That might partly be because I myself (like others; yeah, you! lol) was a kid at the time. But they made a lifelong fan of me. That's for sure! xD

I don't know of any male child characters who are not voiced by females.

They do read better than kids of that age.
Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.
