I'm curious as to how the MU/MV shutdowns affected everyone's anime viewing. What was your reaction to it when it first happened? How do you feel about it now?

the only affected thing are manga scanlations imo ... for anime there are far better sources to get them.

Didn't even know those sites existed until some news article awhile back. TBH, I prefer legal routes for my media. The quality is often way better. I just don't think I should have to fork over money for three different formats of a movie that I paid for once already.
My Bubblegum Crisis fan-site --> The Bubblegum Crisis Sanctum (a work in progress)
and my humble blog --> The Writing Desk
--> My AF album

Yeh legal media is amazing quality and I love to watch anime on the TV. Only problem is how it takes forever (and it some cases never) to be released here.
Shutting down these sites won't affect streaming much and they instead should focus on providing easier access to legal media (since in most cases fans will prefer to buy over stream anyway). I think it took 20 hours for most sites to repair their mirrors so it didn't affect anyone in the slightest.

This is old news! Facepalm!!!!!!!!
Sorry but I like to SEE a physical anime dvd collection than a digital anti-copyright one. In other words Be Safe And Be Legal .
It only affected me with mild annoyance because some files for a MMORPG I play were mirrored on Megaupload.
