@T-Stew , if you get the chance, try something from McLaren Vale - that's near where I live. It's a lovely wine region :-)
I hate to call you out on that but thats not true and just about precisely what all the companies making a profit from soda and sugar loaded foods want you to think. Soda, and other sugared drinks/snacks can have long term and short term issues, and yeah people have died in short order from excessive sugar. People with insulin resistance or other problems with blood sugar can have fast and deadly reactions. High glucose levels in your blood can cause a lot of damage to your body. And if I recall the leading form of liver disease is now from sugar, more specifically HFCS found in most sodas and other sweetened foods, rather than alcohol. Sure alcohol has the potential to be deadly too, I'm not denying that, but the problem is in the common beliefs such like you say, thinking there is no way soda is as bad as alcohol. As far as drunk driving, well one could argue that is more the persons fault, as many people enjoy alcoholic beverages and never drink and drive. What about before cars were invented, that wouldnt even be an issue yet the alcohol is the same... But my point was more nutritional based. Like how many good things are in beer or wine versus soda. Soda usually has nothing good for you, especially the mass produced national brands. Beer often has vitamins, protien, nutrients, etc. Unfortunately there are many things that arent measured... phytonutrients since its made from plants, such as the bitter compounds from the hops I mentioned before. Just a quick article http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/fe...uth-about-beer you can google lots of stuff on the subject, but most arent really scientific. But just like the article says I do not recommend anyone start drinking for health benefits, even if there are some positives they are pretty small, and of course the big risk from overconsumption.
@Jasanime I'm on the hunt for it then! Not sure if its available around here but I'll be looking.

sooooo you don't like alcohol?
Are you NOT entertained?!!!
Thought about this thread when I was making dinner tonight so snapped a quick pic... Nothing like a good drink to celebrate a milestone. Water just doesnt cut it, and I had drank enough water today. Garmin had me at nearly 5000 calories on my long run today, so some homemade pizza and one of my favorite beers was in order. I figured I deserved it, and needed some extra carbs.

Personally I'm not much of a fan. I don't hate it, but I don't go out of my way to drink it. If I go to a party or to hang out with a mate who plans to drink, I may have a few. But I don't drink it casually or at home.

This made me laugh a lot today. In Japanese class we read a children's story about a young middle school student who goes out with his friends to karaoke, drinks a lot of sake and has a hangover the next day and long story short he rides the train all day because he keeps blacking out and sleeping before his stop so he arrives at school really really late. Our teacher asked us what the moral of the story was and everyone said "Get lots of sleep" or "sleep well" etc. Our teacher was stunned that nobody had picked up on the fact that a middle school student shouldn't have been drinking alcohol to begin with.
Says a lot about our drinking culture in Australia huh?
It's Darwinism in action.
Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.

I personally only find alcohol enjoyable when socializing im not one to sit at home and drink alone I will only really ever drink when I am out with friends or with family during holidays.
Aside from the bitter taste of the alcohol...
It gives you good confidence for everything hahaha. Try guinness with vodka!
