"In 2012, the world allegedly comes to an end at the hands of a "man-made" virus, ravaging the global populace and leaving only children under the age of thirteen untouched. At the same time, the vampires emerge from the recesses of the earth, likely followed by age-old horrors of the dark thought only to be myth. They sweep the earth and claim it in a single violent stroke, subjugating the remnants of humanity and leading them beneath the surface to safety. This "protection" comes at the price of "donating" blood to their captors, not knowing that they are vampires. At the age of twelve, Yūichirō and his friend and fellow orphan Mikaela plotted to escape along with the children in Hyakuya Orphanage. However, this resulted in their deaths and Mikaela sacrifices himself in order for Yūichirō to escape and be saved by members of the Moon Demon Company, an extermination unit of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. Four years later, Yūichirō dedicates his life to destroy vampires and seek revenge against them for murdering his "family." At the same time, it is revealed that Mikaela survived and plans to find Yūichirō."

For those of use who don't know Cirque Du Freak, tell us about it.

Well the manga is based on the Saga of Darren Shan. Darren likes spiders. Him and a friend go to a freakshow where there is a man(Larten crepsly) who controls a rare and deadly spider. Darren's friend, Steve recognises Larten from books and knows he is a vampire. After the show Darren sees Steve asking Larten to make him one, but after testing his blood Larten refuses because Steve's blood is evil, meaning Larten believes he will be evil.
Darren manages to steal the spider, and it bites Steve, leaving him close to death. He asks Larten if there is a cure, there is, but he'll only use it if Darren agrees to become a half vampire and his assistant.

Darren slowly gets used to becoming a half vampire. At first he refuses to feed, but slowly accepts. He learns about Vampaneze, who were once vampires but they broke off from the clan and are now a different species. They kill when they feed, vampires don't. The vampires have a kind of political structure among them vampire generals command vampires, and princes command all. Vampaneze don't have princes or generals. But a Lord of the Vampaneze is discovered who has been prophesised lead the vampaneze to war against he vampires and destroy them all, And Darren is told that the other part of that prophecy is that him and two other vampires are allowed to hunt the Lord of the Vampaneze, and if they kill him before the war they can stop him coming to power.
So becoming a half vampire, vampire politics and vampire/vampaneze wars. Can't really go much further without giving away too many spoilers.

They also never finished the series. The series' main producer or creator or whatever, died in the middle of production. Although they had material from the manga, the decision was made to kill the series even before it ran a full season. WTF?

Well, Digimon: Digital Monsters did feature a vampire-esque villain in Myotismon! He was a likeable baddy.

He's a vampire and he's been going for hundreds of years. What, he's supposed to solve all his problems in 26 episodes?

Trinity Blood did not go on for 26 episodes. It didn't even last a full season.

I don't know NightWalker. Moon Phase was cute.



Though the last episode was sort of weird.
