Driver that struck teen suing dead boy's family

Okay, I've made 3 threads today, but this like the newest level of inhumanity I've ever seen.

Now the driver of the SUV, Sharlene Simon, 42, a mother of three, formerly from Innisfil, is suing the dead boy for the emotional trauma she says she has suffered. She’s also suing the two other boys, as well as the dead boy’s parents, and even his brother, who has since died. She’s also suing the County of Simcoe for failing to maintain the road.

Cameron (boy's family lawyer) has launched a routine lawsuit against the driver, mainly for medical and funeral costs on behalf of the boys and their families. He alleges Simon (the driver) was speeding and may have been intoxicated and talking on her cellphone.

Is it possible by suing the family she thinks in some strange way it could remove her guilt of the accident and make her feel like she did nothing wrong? People are strange sometimes so never know.

Anyone can sue anyone for anything, it doesn't really mean much.

However, I will explain the reasoning for you:
1) It's misogynist to believe this mother of three would intentionally harm a child, so she can't be held legally accountable.
2) Typically when a woman commits a crime, the nearest male around is the prime suspect. In this case it was the boy who was hit.
3) Since the boy is not a legal adult and doesn't have any money anyway, the parents are held accountable.

In any case, it is easy to blame a victim for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. In this case you would say "If you don't want to be hit by an car, don't get in front of a moving SUV".

In a statement of claim filed with the court, Simon is claiming $1.35 million in damages due to her psychological suffering, including depression, anxiety, irritability and post-traumatic stress. She blames the boys for negligence.

“They did not apply their brakes properly,” the claim states. “They were incompetent bicyclists.”

A South Simcoe Police report shows Simon admitted that she was driving at 90 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on the two-lane road. She claims she didn’t see the boys or any of the orange-red pedal reflectors.

She mowed into 3 bicycles at 10km/h over the speed limit on a rainy night, and it was the bicyclists who were negligent?

I honestly believe that people like this should be brought into the back of some building and shot...better shoot her lawyer to. She better not get anything out of this...I just really hope she gets what's coming to her.
