Worst forum? GIVE ME ANSWERS OR WATERMELONS!

[Anime Forum]

How many of you joined a forum and found it completely worthless, annoying, and the people were either inactive or very rude. Well behold! A thread to discuss those failures!

Mine: Anime Nation. Inactive and bashed/attacked by 4+ members for wanting the Xbox One in my first 24 hours over there. It seems having your own opinion is a bad thing over there.

I lurk too much to find a forum that I dislike or find repulsive. I'm sure there may have been one when I was frequenting forums though.

Sometimes I feel this forum fits into all of this. It's why I left and didn't really come back for a while. It says I've been a member for 5 years but it doesn't feel that way.

Also the official Sega forums. I often wonder why I stick around there.

I joined a Metroid fan forum once because of a friend (She was the admin). I don't really care about Metroid that much but it was horrible. Way over moderated, You couldn't have a problem with the Metroid franchise or Nintendo, they'd just edit your posts and give you warnings. If you called them out on it (even in a nice way) they'd bring down the ban hammer. Even though I knew the admin and would try and tell her that her mods were way to strict she would just ignore it so I left.

It seems having your own opinion is a bad thing over there.

Wont say the name but yeah left such a one back in '09. Modded a bit there. But the Admin was never around, much of the members where crap. And I'm pretty sure the Admin just used the forum to make money from advertisements. And to point out how little he cared about the site beyond that I was still a mod when I left and seemed to finally get removed sometime in the second half of last year when I stopped receiving emails about posts needing moderation. So about three years I was left on staff without any sign in from me. Six months later I join AF and haven't left since or actively joined another server.

The forum I was on before this one started out okay but as time went by the older members left and gradually I was one of the only original members left who were active and the newer people there were just so.....potty mouthed I guess you could say. All they said was f this and f that and what do you want.

Don't get me wrong a bit of swearing is alright every now and then when there's a genuine reason for it but over 3/4's of their posts were just swearing blindly or just being racist and it was pretty horrific at some of the things they posted on there. Hence why I left

AF is my second forum. My first was an art forum that had good folks in it. I have yet to encounter a bad forum.. And that may not happen since I won't join another forum.

I've never joined another forum besides this one. I never really knew what a forum was so I was so I never bothered to join one. I've lurked on a few but I've never made an account. Some of them had like no members that were online at the moment and I thought that was strange. And when I went looking through posts I found that the recent ones were how they didn't like people or trust them. And was like yeah I'm not signing up for this. It just looked so boring.

AF is my first and probably only forum I will sign up for. I've meet some awesome people here and since I have been a member for a while I get to customize my profile whenever I want to how I want.

I thought it was an anime forum. And it was .. 99% of its focus was on hentai though. Aaaaaand that's not what I was looking for. Lol

And there was a Skyrim forum I was banned from cuz a guy annoyed me. So I trolled the Hell out of him. Turned out he was buddy buddy with some admins :P

So far the worst i encountered was the G4 forums even though it was shut down a while ago. There was this other anime forum but i can't remember the name of it.

I don't post on forums all that often now, but the worst I would to say is PSU.com. Not to say it is bad, but it just happens to be the worst out of the few really good forums I post at. The problem I have with PSU is that there are a lot of stealth trolls that go unpunished. You can make a calm, casual response to something someone says and that someone will out of nowhere treat you like you are somehow overreacting or being too serious, or they find creative way to call you immature and do it in an insultive, offending manner. It's like that Anger Management scene on the airplane were everyone is telling Adam Sandler to calm down when he actually already is and it just gets to the point where they just aggravate you.

I remember coming to this one forum where everybody seemed cool for a while, everyone seemed alright. But as soon as I expressed that I didn't like My Little Pony, everything went to hell. Now the moderators are constantly and consistantly harassing and cyberbullying me and anyone they think might be working with me, and the head mod has seen fit to using the most OBVIOUS of sock puppets to use this virtual currency of theirs to change my user title and try to humiliate me.

So when I posted in a thread that the phrase brony was commonly used as a negative term, and Flash D thumbs downed that, and how he/she goes around harassing me and claiming I'm someone I'm not, that's his/her finger slipping?

And you sure it was Flash? Either way, you came in saying Brony was a negative term and I told you it wasnt. It did seem odd to me that someone who was so upset about "being accepted" would go and bash at bronies, which is probably what earned you a thumbs down [if it was from Flash]

Stop having temper tantrums and take your complaints to the proper authorities. If you carefully read the misc rules, you will find they actually contains a rule that *explicitly allows* mods to make up rules as situations arise. Convenient, isn't it?
