And there is a moon inside
And it shines soft and sweet
And lonely there at your feet
From your tower in the street
Where beggers look and stride
Lonely in their goats and sleep
Away their lives and confide
To themselves some sorrow deep
Like falling rains on the city streets
Of taxi’s taking them away
And all you have will fall
Like angels playing strings
A lyre in your hands will sing
And everything will seem so small
Some body takes your things
Your wife, drag suitcases through the hall
To that brand new future bring
And leave you in the grave yard, tall
Tombstone soft and looming
Your spirits while its zooming
Across the empty sky that crooning
Watch all the mourners walk
They have no words to talk
All look at the world which balks
Under there feet and sighs
Flowing from somebody’s eye
Like a liquid flow from high
Across their cliffs white as chalk
And it glitters on their climb
So delicious in its marked
To if it had only wings like hark
To the future that will die
When they stop to take you away
And there in the earth you live
All you are is all you give
To the flesh of god and live
Forever in the grass and rose
Which twinkles like some child’s cloths
So innocent and pure like toes
Dangling off of street light ribs
Of some dark place that no one knows
Those innocent legs dangling glib
And smiling off of bridges in rows
That are like cherub feet and give
The darkness their smiling white bows
As girls with jelly take their swaddling cloths
For garments sheer and how they rose
Up ‘til they have to be taken away
To the doll house where they die
Of a god who bends his iron sighs
Like winds that blow and start to cry
And gives them a bend to lie
On while all the world it flys
Around a star that burns the fries
And sputters out and starts to die
And holds them in his arms so high
Above every alley where reside
The broken men who stretch to cry
