Re: the line breaks in the chorus, if you weren't terribly fussy about keeping things on the same line as their Japanese counterparts as much as possible, I think it would be fairly easy to maintain the line count while breaking the lines in more natural places, something like this:

Yes, I've come to realize that you were always watching over me
Even though you're no longer here
Yes, happiness is something you taught me -
I won't forget
Now or ever

Also, your translation of the first line seems to have skipped "静かな", by the way.
