Cool Taro's Monster Hunt from 1936

The style, as it seems with most Japanese animation from the 1930's, takes after Warner Brothers' Merrie Melodies from the same period. Maybe there is a little Fleischer brothers influence as well. But you have to start somewhere. Use what those who came before you have done, and build on that foundation to develop your own style.

Jackie Coogan, Charlie Chaplin, and Charles Reisner as the Bully.

Reisner was a former pro boxer who turned actor, writer, and director. He previously worked for Chaplin behind the camera on The Gold Rush. Reisner would later become known as a comedy director working with The Marx Brothers, Jack Benny, and Abbot and Costello, among others.

Another monster hunt from the 1930's:

Technically, there are some flaws. The sound is not always in sync with the action. You can see this in some of the dialog. The mouths are moving either before or after the voice actor speaks. I noticed this quite a bit in anime from the 1970's and '80's.
