What are the anime moments that really shocked you (maybe freaked you out a little). Mine so far is probably when the 'Red Man' massacres all on Igarashi Ganta's classmates in the first episode of Deadman Wonderland.

Twists, are usually pretty dumb in anime.
but many things usually struck me real hard on a few animes, and it's nothing plot wise. It's those little things. An example (I consider it an anime, you can do otherwise.. I really don't care.) was in Avatar: The Last Airbender. there's a part where they're training to kill the firelord, and Aang just can even kill a doll with a melon. He can't even hurt a doll and just pretend. Then Sokka(the comic relief character, mind you.)comes and slices the melon in half with a sword. I gasped at that moment, It was a thing these kids were pushed to do. What gets me is those silent things, that are not mentioned, things dawning on characters usually pushing them to do something they don't want to do. Like in High School of the dead, when Takashi has to walk through all the zombies and test if they really react to noise, turns back at what ever the name is of the chick he likes and just says. "It's a drag" with a smile.... it's those little moments.
"Tell her that I miss our little talks."
