Well, since my last siggeh sucked so baaaaaaad. I seriously failed. I spent a lot more time on this one. Massive improvement, me thinks. XD I went for light colours as opposed to dark this time.

I had a bit of a fight with PS today with this one. The render, which I didn't extract myself, was quite choppy and I had to fix it up. I'm not too sure about the text, I don't like it, but meh! Made a matching avatar too.

They look quite similar in style and in color. I find the one on the bottom better though.

i can see what your gettin at there rem

but he has a way to do things and if it works why change it

but on the flip side it wouldent hurt to change it up a bit, which is what i try to do on a regular basis

No offense guys, but I don't think my all sigs look the same. Sure, I am developing a style and I consider that a good thing. In order to start improving and developing my skills, finding a style to work from has to happen. If you look at the ones I was making over a month ago and the ones on the first page, they are terrible, they make me cringe. I only just started taking the sig making seriously and putting some proper effort in. I can't possibly learn all of the techniques in the space of a couple of weeks, re the dates on my posts. One step at a time guys.

And btw, I'm not a he. :P

The Yoda ones looks like the Heroes one? The same um cloudy sort of effect to it. It's good, just the same.

REM I don't know where you see the cloud effect in the heroes one because there isn't one. lol

There is smudging in the yoda one, that's the cloud effect and a space stock combined. With other adjustments and stuffles.

There is no smudging at all in the heroes one, just some displacement layers and little lighting effects, some adjustment layers, a texture or two, etc, etc.

I would rather people give me some tips on how to improve rather than come in here and say something they know nothing about. When people are giving criticism, it has to be constructive. I didn't mind the first time, but saying the same thing twice without being helpful is a bit much IMO.

Eh hem

You can't tell me those don't look the same. They all are using nearly the same effect. This is being constructive even if you may not agree with it. I find that even though they are good they are formulaic. Same effect now maybe not super the same, but the look and feel is the same.
These are some of your other signatures:

These types of signatures you make are more beautiful. They aren't what you suspect and they are completely different from each other. The character pops out and she pops out. Especially the first one.


I know I'm taking to an extreme, but:

What I'm trying to get at. Be more unique. Make the characters stand out. Take down the dressing and become a more you. I know the last ones maybe not the most same, but it still creates a reference. Let out the shell and stop following tutorials. Maybe use tutorials for techniques. But don't become the same as everybody else. Do what you were originally doing. Make the characters come out and live. These characters are surrounded by some clouding and top layer saturation. Let the characters stand out like your originals. Your very first signatures in this thread are spectacular because they aren't so similar to each other.

No no no. The one's I made before were not beautiful, they were rubbish. I made a background by messing around with effects and then slapping a render on top. They were in no way unique and I won't go back to that.

I'm not following tutorials. I am a professional graphic designer yo, so I don't need to. I think I know what looks good and what doesn't. I sometimes read tutorials for new techniques. I think I can do a lot of this stuff on my own. It just takes a bit of time and effort to get it right. I look on sig making as being different to what I do in the real world. It's an art in it's own right and I do have a lot more to learn in this area and I am doing my best. I don't need to revert to where I was months ago. Thank you!
