Can't make threads or post in groups?

I joined a few groups and in not one of them am I able to post anything or talk in the threads already made. Is it the website or what's going on? Also is this that anime forum that had its site compromised and all the information from the database stolen? I remember an anime forum being hacked but forgot which one it was.

I don't know the answer to your first question, but as for your second question you might be referring to AnimuSuki. Might, I'm not 100% positive.

I think it's the new member thing that is going on, that your post require approval to be shown, until you reach a certain number of posts or days in the forum, an admin can probably say more about this

Would seem to me it's the moderation thing to stop new users (or rather - bots) from spamming the Groups section with useless ad crap. I think maybe @Eris or @Kaitou Ace might know better than me though.


And ... well, people have -tried- to hack AF, but they've always failed (miserably). ;-) But I know plenty of other forums that've been hacked. Hell, a forum I used to be on got hacked every August without fail by some Turkish toss-pots who kept having to remind me that the forum webhost sucked.

You're having newmemberism. Essentially the groups you joined either are private and have to accept you or you have to be more active (more posts, stick around for a while, etc.) to be able to fully join them. Mac also brought up having a mod to valid your posts, while it's true for the regular forum posts, I'm unsure if that extends to the groups and other external forum stuff.
