I'm trying to get myself to watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but I don't feel led to. It's been brought up a few times here at AF through the years, so I wonder if it's any good.
Q: Would you recommend this anime?

My Wi-Fi, it's gone out . . .
Yes, I would recommend it. I enjoyed it when I watched/read it so I think you will, too.
Thanks. This and One Punch Man have been recommended to me. I think I'll watch OPM first, so long as there's not too much blood in that anime. I dislike really bloody anime series.

Yeah, haruhi suzumiya no yuutsu is probably the best anime to come out in 2006 other than FLCL. It's very good in my opinion, so I'd say at least give it a try.
Which reminds me, the show is ten goddamn years old. Time sure flies, even if youre not having fun, huh?

i was driven to obtain an see the entirety of the primary animated elements of the series (Season 1~2/Movie) on the strength of the personal appeal of a single character.
today, while i maintain that the series is hardly the finest Anime ever made, it is nonetheless good,
and remains the only way to enjoy my favorite Female Anime chara as she lives and breathes...
@Tasuke
Have you read the light novels? I think you'll like them

Also nice figure
Yes... and the sequel
Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.

Yeah, I really liked Haruhi but about eight episodes are the ones where due to some weird reason, they had to repeat the same day over and over, like in the movie Groundhog Day, and it can get a little repitative.
Yes, it's definitely worth checking out. It's actually pretty unique series imo. (though f*** that endless eight..)
Definitely recommended from me, it isn't something super special or anything, but it's a really well done series that keeps you entertained through the whole thing (except the endless 8..). What you should be looking forward to though, is the movie. It sort of flips everything around and is a lot more "serious" than the series itself is.
I thought it was quite the anime! 10/10 would watch again.
yes, this series is quite solid. Animation in both T.V. Seasons and Movie are simply Divine.
overall. my personal opinion on the subject is in fact artificially skewed by Adoration of a single specific character, however,
and, less her presence, and/or that of the gorgeous eye-candy Animation, i find myself uncertain on just how much of this series i'd honestly actually enjoy...
