Ghost in the Shell (2017 Movie)

The anime Ghost in the Shell is getting made into a live-action movie. It will star Scarlet Johansson and is due in theaters sometime in 2017. I'll watch. lol

Q: What do you think of this?

Live-action... Ehhhhhh... I saw Standalone Complex 1 and the sequel, and I liked it. It's a shame because before seeing the shows I saw the DVD in Walmart, and I thought about buying it, but I didn't. After watching them I went back to Walmart and walked by the electronics department to see if it was still there by coincidence, but it wasn't. Instead I saw this other anime DVD, and I didn't buy it. The same thing is probably gonna happen with that second anime DVD I saw lmao.

This must be the sequel to Lucy since the ending showed her disappearing into nothing but the new age computer LMAO!!!!!!!!

@Digimon_Sommelier Do you have any website links for this? Trailers? Pre-production Stills? Images? Or is there a synopsis for the movie and at what point in the GITS timeline it takes place?

I think Scarlett can most likely pull it off, but I can definitely agree with the whitewashing complains. Please cast an Asian lady to do this this role.

But it's Hollywood, so I doubt it. Obviously Scarlett sells, so...

Like I said they can make it their own new spin. And make it more like Lucy lol since she had the ability to manipulate her body. This could turn into a hit or another DB: Evolution Flop.

The bad thing about most of these movies is that they don't get the same budget as like your Marvel/DC series do.

Now what if Disney decided to start making Live action Miyazaki films???

I'll give this one a go. I wanna' see how it turns out. If the movie sucks, fans of GITS can always go back to watching the anime and its future series, if that ever happens.

I have mixed feelings about this movie but you have to admit Scarlett Johansson is already very good at playing a robotic, cold character. I reference the movie Lucy. Hehe

If you're referring to the television series then yes I did watch the complete series and I really enjoyed all of them. It's different from the movie, but I still liked it alot. There's also a new series/movies that was on Netflix that was really good. A new animated movie came out this year that was fair, but not as good as the rest, so I would recommend them and I would love to hear your opinion.

I would definitely be willing to give it a shot. Not something I would pay to see in theaters though. I will most likely watch it online for free. If it's good enough, then I'll possibly buy it on Blu-ray.

Because of "whitewashing," as the term goes, the movie bombed. It just didn't look too appealing. Sorry but it's just my opinion. For those who did like the movie, blessings.
