Overused, Underused, Neverused. They are the tiers. You are suggested to stay within your tier for best results, since highest tier pokemon determines what tier you fight in. And having 1 overused and 2 underused with definitely lose to 3 overused. Lol.

EV stands for Effort Values. Every time you kill a pokemon, you get some effort values points. Every 4 EVs in a specific category gives you an extra point in that category. For instance, 4 EVs in Hp will give you 1 more HP overall. You can only get a max of 255 EVs in any specific category, and 512 EVs total. So, for instance, you want a Pokemon with high HP and speed. You would get it as an egg, have it battle nothing but the appropriate monsters for the EVs you need, maxing out the EVs, then get it to level 100. There are items that help speed this process up, such as ones that double or quadruple the EVs you gain from a battle, or giving you 10 EVs in one use.

IV stand for Individual Values. Each stat has a max IV of 31. When a pokemon is caught or hatched, it automatically has a set IV for every stat. IVs are hidden and cannot be changed within the game. You can take a pokemon to a specific person to find out it's max IV value, and a rough amount of what the IV is. Having a pokemon hold a specific item when it breeds will give a 50% chance or so of passing that IV along to a pokemon. So if you are lucky enough to hatch a male chimchar with max ATK IV, and a female chimchar with max SPD IV, and have them hold the appropriate items when breeding, you will end up with a chimchar with max ATK and SPD IVs. Sadly, only 2 IVs are controllable. The rest after that are random and luck based.

The nature is also important. Specific natures help raise some stats faster, at the expense of other stats. You can forcefully pass on a nature to a pokemon through breeding via specific items. I believe only the female can pass down it's nature, and it's a 50% chance of doing so, but it has to hold an everstone.

Basically, it's all very advanced stuff that leads to competitive battling and much stronger pokemon.

I still think pokemon has gone on for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long now. I mean come on over what? 600 are there now? Theres no way you ain't gonna be able to get them all.

There are 493 before black/white. So after black/white, probably over 600. As for collecting them all, it does take a while, but it CAN be done.

It'll take forever and a half to do so and I don't think people have that much dedication. Even the most die hard fans will more than likely loose interest.

I've gotten all 493 a few times. Everytime I do, I restart all the games and go for it again. It's a great way to kill boredom. Getting another 150 or so shouldn't be too difficult.

I actually got all 493. But. I'm not restarting my game. I have another game tht I use to raise them all. I want to get each and every one to lvl 100. I finish a game with 6 lvl 100's and then start over with the next group. Tht way when I get wifi in my own home(I'm using a phone to b on af) I can beat anyone everywhere. I have already beaten all my friends tht live here.

I want to beat as many ppl as I can. I don't like to use rare candy cuz they don't get any stronger all it does is maybe raise status. I'd rather make em strong. I don't use any stat up moves I use strictly and purely power. And I totally kick a**. Though my fav types r fire and dragon types, its interesting to raise all different types. I'v always chose a fire type to start with since I was little.

Rare candies do help them gain levels. However, the reason they seem to be weaker after a rare candy than if you were to actually train it is because you are foregoing the EV training. If you fully EV train a pokemon, then rare candies will make them just as strong as actually battling with them.

I have my friend code for my diamond version but not my soul silver cuz I haven't gotten to a wifi area tht I can use it in cus even at mcdonalds I can't do it even though it has wifi it asks for an ip address so I can't get on. I think the pkmn games need to step it up a bit more. Here are some personal things I would like in a pkmn game.
1- Design your own character. You can already dress up your Pokemon, so why can't you dress yourself up? Besides, it wouldn't be that hard to make the sprites anyway.
2- Keep secret base like Ruby/Saphire. It was the one extremely good thing I liked about R/S/E and the underground kinda killed secret bases.
3- Go to other regions. That way you don't have to use multiple cartridges to catch them all, and you have more fun.
4- Rebattle Gym leaders. I know they had that option in Emerald, but not so sure about Platinum or the new ones.
5- Being able to purchase all the TMs, and other items that before you couldn't buy before. Though I hope they won't be so cheap.
6- Weather changes. It would be awesome if there was like a channel on the TVs that told you what the weather would be in the upcoming days and it changed. I get tired of just having a certain place where the weather is in effect, it makes the whole weather thing pointless after a while.
7- I don't know if anyone else gets tired of having to carry a pkmn just for the hm moves, but hopefully they have a game where the trainer has the ability to use the pokemon a certain way instead of making it a move that wastes a slot on your pokemon.
8- Co-op. I don't know why, but I just have a craving for being able to co-op through the game with other people, especially now that Tag-battles are available.

I agree there needs to be more added and some taken out. Especially designing your own character would be very good as it would give you more freedom and uniqueness

3. If you count HG and SS, you can go to 2...but you're right, that'd be cool.
4. You can in HG SS, and I'm guessing that they'll implement that in Black and White
5. PLEASE. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE. You have no idea how frustrating that is if you haven't EV/IV'd a team of 6 or more, IT'S INFURIATING.
