Durarara! On cartoon network?!

Adult Swim does an okay job with their anime, IMO. I'm just glad they didn't give it to 4Kids or Nicktoons. Or heaven forbid, Disney XD. <-- Not the emote, the legitimate letters, Lol.

It's not the type of series that ever would have ended up on those channels to begin with.

This is true. Though, I thought the same way about Naruto Shippudden (sp), and it ended up on Disney. :c

Really? Naruto was shown on Cartoon Network, and has always been marketed towards kids, I suppose. It is a Shonen Jump series, after all. Disney XD just happens to market towards the group that would like it, so they put it there.

Durarara! is a completely different type of series. It's made by the same people that did Baccano!, definitely Adult Swim material there. Although I didn't get too far into Durarara! myself.

I think they're confusing something here...[Adult Swim] (and Nicktoons and Disney XD, for that matter) only air anime. They don't take part in the licensing, dubbing or editing (aside from bleeping things you can't say on television). The licensing, translating, dubbing, and distribution is all done by Aniplex of America. The channel it is broadcast on has not effect on what the series subject matter may be, but the subject matter of a series has a very large effect on what channel may seek to broadcast it.

Whoops, I think I worded that wrong. c: I know they only air and brodcast, but I meant the anime usually don't have to be severely edited to be on the channel. Like how they did a lot of changes on Tokyo Mew Mew on 4Kids (don't know why though) and the like~ But then again, Naruto already aired on CN before, so it wasn't a crazy jump to be on Disney XD.

Anyhow. I think CN/AS needs to show a bit more of a variety so people will stop watching only Naruto and Bleach for heavens sake...... It's not the only two anime out there.

Oh yeah, I remember that once, when my father's boss kid is watching them on Disney, thought how this anime is so cool and beating the girl ( Sakura ) up. Wondering how this kid doing all right while begin influence by Naurto show...?

Oh yeah, about Durarara, I believe they only put them in Adult Swim, not Cartoon Network. Because of headless-rider might scare the children... "OH MY GWAD! WHERE HER HEAD?! AHHH"....

Like trit said they used to have a fairly large selection of anime I mean they did have Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, and Blood+, but now they've narrowed it down to the two of the longest running anime series (excluding Pokemon XD) there are and that just gets plain boring. But now that they have Durarara things might start looking up for us anime lovers in the AS realm. XD

Durarara. Now that is quality anime and to be honest its probably one of my favorite animes I've seen in quite a few years. Does anyone know if they sell Durarara on dvd? If so I'd probably be interested in purchasing it sooner than later.

I've been watching it. It's a little weird, and at time depressing. But it's been getting interesting so I'm going to keep watching. Why don't they put Shippuden on Adult Swim too? Do you know how many more viewers they would have?

I believe it's been out on DVD since last fall/winter - at least the first part of it was. It's been fully released for quite some time as well.
