Well sorry if I misunderstood you earlier. I didn't see that video. His mugshot looks creepy too in my opinion. Like he thinks he is going to be found insane at the end of his trial. Like it is all part of his master plan by convincing the jury that he truly insane. However trying to prove he is not guilty by reason of insanity is a very tough defense that rarely works in real life. So his stupid creepy grin is going to be wiped off his ugly mug with a guilty verdict.

Well if he did just do the shooting for attention then it won't matter if goes to Prison like you said earlier he would be laughing in a cell at the attention he is getting but one thing that would probably wipe that smug smile off of his face is a death sentence.

It won't bring the people back to life. It will only make him more the matyr to his limited number of supporters. People with severe psychological issues do not react to pain and torture as a normal one does. For all you know, he might enjoy it like the Joker he aimed to imitate.

Its not that uncommon that killers just turn themselves in. Look at Anders Breivik. Breivik hoped that by turning himself in his message would get spread even more as everyone looked to hear his reasoning for such a crime.

I willing to bet a considerable amount of money we are dealing with a severe case of narcissistic personality disorder. He probably believes believes he has some sort of revelation that normal people have not yet come across. He probably believes himself to be "ahead of the curve" which is why he feels some level of kinship with the Dark Knights joker.

That's true...it's been said the guy was a scientist. And Breivik was just another insane man....and yeah I even read the 46-page document that he wrote, some crazy stuff. What's was this man's purpose then?

I am still confused how a man armed like a militia man can just walk up so easily to the theater....He must have some accomplices for it to execute so well. I hope they reveal more of this story since there's still some unanswered questions.

Being a scientist doesn't make you smart. Technically I'm a scientist and I'm an idiot. All it takes is some work. Holmes was stupid. People with common sense realise how fallible they are and how easily they can come to the wrong conclusions. The fact that he was this sure in his convictions tells me all I need to know to make that assumption.

By driving to a theatre getting out and walking in. No one is going to stop the guy carrying an assault rival. Everyone would have ducked for cover and ran away. The theatre staff are hardly going to attempt to disarm him with nothing but boxes of popcorn and a mop.
Accomplices were not needed. Killing does not take skill. Killing sitting ducks in a theatre is easy and cowardly. Killing has always been the resort of lazy cowards. Its not special or impressive. Saving a life, that's impressive.

I don't want to hear any more about him. I don't want people, other than those involved, finding out any more about the man. Screw the unanswered questions. I don't want him to get the 2 weeks of fame he was happy to kill for.

First of all, my sympathies goes out to the families affected by this tragedy. I can try to comprehend the tribulations and strife each affected person is going through, but as a person that does not know anyone there, it is wiser to not try at all.
Personally, I think this killer is as crazy as any killer that had performed similar mass murders. Despite the act that can anger just about anybody, I would not feel any hatred towards him. Even if he shot me on the back and the bullet hit my spine, which would cripple me for life, I would not hold a grudge. Not only will I sink to his emotional level, which is just that: hatred, but I will not find any kind of happiness in life. His craziness may be the foundation of his actions, but without some sort of hatred, he will not follow up.
This man will be judged and I know it obviously will not be in his favor, but may God be with him.
