Yoko Kanno is kicking my donkey. (I just wanted to try saying that.) I'm not quite sure on a couple of things...
Like a songbird spotting the light of dawn
I become aware of it
The world is still sleeping
And does not yet know of the faint omen beating violently in my chest
Because I loved, I knew of despair
With the strength still grasped in these hands
Even if I lose it, even if I lose it-
Please pledge to me, on these tears
To become possessed by a miracle
Leap above the rubble
In a rising curve
Please seek the beating in your heart
Until this life is returned
Will it be in time?
I hope that it'll be in time [1]
Why does it seem like I'm moving away from my ideal?
Rather than being frozen in true loneliness,
airplanes dirty the sky
Mankind has / people have become so cruel [2]
In the darkness which protected me
I prayed, with swelling eyelids
Even if I lose it, even if I lose it-
Just to live for one second more
Press the back of your soul forward [3]
Bound tight,
a flickering destiny
Please seek the beating in your heart
Pull in your uncertainty
Will it be in time?
I hope it'll be in time
Please pledge to me, on these tears
To become possessed by a miracle
Leap above the rubble
In a rising curve
Please seek the beating in your heart
Until this life is returned
Will it be in time?
I hope that it'll be in time

Kanji:
[1] I originally wanted to go with, Will I make it in time? / I hope I'll make it in time, but the context isn't very clear.
[2] What I'm reading from this is that people would rather pollute the sky with airplanes with travelling to see their loved ones, but it's not so obvious just from the lyrics themselves. I wonder if there's a way to translate this better...
[3] The wording's just really strange.
