what do you guy prefer in anime subbed or dubbed ? i prefer subbed because it seems more natural and because dubbed sounds really cheesy to me.

Dubbed, always dubbed. I really love voice acting, even if it's bad voice acting, I just love the sound of it. With subs I'm focused more on the text, rather than the voices and the art. That said, I'll watch subbed anime if I have to, and I don't really mind it. I just prefer dubs.
Also, I have a brother who likes anime as well, but has a reading disability. So he can't keep up with subs...

Gee with a popular question as this some people are too lazy to even look at the first page to see that one has already been made.. It's not like you had to search very far.......

I always watch shows/movies/anime in the language it was made for. Their voices doesn't feel right if it's dubbed.
For those that have trouble concentrating on the show with subs, you'll eventually get better at it. I always watch shows with subtitles even if it's in English since I was 9 due to a habit from when my English wasn't very good and because of my decreased hearing in my right ear. Now I never notice that I'm reading the subtitles and can pay 99% attention to the anime.

I don't really have a preference. It depends on the actual dub. I'll usually just watch whichever I pick up first. Unless the dub is really bad, then I'll switch over.

Dubbed... I hate reading while I'm trying to watch anime. Seems like I miss half the show; and constantly pausing and rewinding.
Most dubbed I've seen is actually pretty good. And who's to say the subbed version isn't terrible voice acting? One who doesn't know Japanese can't ever tell; they just hear the voice and assume it's more natural; meanwhile kids in Japan are saying, "What the hell is this crap, I prefer the english version", lol.

I always watch films and TV shows in it's original language with English subs. Not just anime. I've never had any troubles reading subtitles. Then again I'm a quick reader

While i prefer subs , i allways look for dubs , since i watch anime on my DS and the screen is really small so its hard for me to read trough it.

Subbed all the way. Dubbed is horrible. Its better to read the dialog in context then out of context, because some Japanese sayings and jokes get butchered when translated into English.

Subbed the dubs voice acting is really truly terrible in anime and when the original japanese voice is put in it has so much life and well done voice acting so SUB!!!! Hehe xD

Subbed ^-^ didn't like sony's dub of rurouni kenshin, couldn't get over the dub of trigun, don't get me started on 4kids' one piece.

Subbed is fine for me but if the show is already dubbed I watch in dub because I'm too lazy to read subtitles. I only read them cuz I have too, but if I get a choice, I'm taking the easier way out. No subs for me! lol

It depends. I try to hear both and make an assertion early.

Its mainly based on date and setting for me. Good dubs pre-2000 are hard to find and are subjective. I also don't like to hear Japanese when the stories aren't based on Japanese culture in a dominant sense, such as Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Code Geass.
