Default The Humble Indie Game Bundle #2: Five Indie Games for the Price of Your Choice

    http://www.humblebundle.com/

Basically, if you have a PayPal, Amazon.com, or Google Checkout account, you can pay whatever price you want to buy five indie games - Braid, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, and Revenge of the Titans.

If you choose to buy the bundle for more than the average price (as of this posting, $7.67), you can also get the original Humble Indie Game Bundle for free, featuring six more indie games - World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, Penumbra Overture, and Samorost 2.

The proceeds are split between five groups:
    - the developers behind the games in Humble Indie Bundle #2
    - the developers behind the games in Humble Indie Bundle #1
    - the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a non-profit digital rights advocacy group
    - Child's Play, a charity that buys toys and games for sick kids in hospitals (run by the Penny Arcade guys)
    - the creators of Humble Bundle Inc., to pay for bandwidth and promotion of the site

In case you're curious about the games themselves:

    Humble Indie Bundle #2
    - Braid is a platform/puzzle game featuring time-warping mechanics that are highly unusual even among games that feature time travel, and a very unusual story to boot. It's won numerous awards and universal critical acclaim since its release.
    - Cortex Command is a work-in-progress side-scrolling action/RTS, an interesting premise hampered by somewhat glitchy controls. Probably the only dud in HIB#2, and even then there is still enjoyment to be had.
    - Machinarium is a hand-drawn point-and-click adventure game about a robot exploring a universe of robots. This genre isn't for everyone, but you'll like it if you like that kind of thing.
    - Osmos is a micro-organism absorption game; not sure how else to put it. You can absorb organisms that are smaller than you, and you get absorbed by those bigger than you. Eat or be eaten. Surprisingly fun.
    - Revenge of the Titans is a polished tower defense with retro-revival graphics, Atari/8-bit style with a modern touch, and a great sense of humor.

    Humble Indie Bundle #1
    - World of Goo is a puzzle/strategy game where you build bridges and towers out of little balls of oil. Like Braid, it's received universal acclaim and lots of awards.
    - Aquaria is like Metroid, except underwater and with singing and cooking. It's pretty good, especially if you like Metroid. Fluid controls and gorgeous environments and music.
    - Gish is a platformer where you control a giant blob of goo which can flatten to fit in small spaces, stick to walls, and tighten up to slam into objects. I played a few levels and it seemed kind of dull and easy, but you might like it.
    - Lugaru HD is a 3D action/fighting game featuring anthropomorphic rabbits and wolves. Highly bizarre, the controls are somewhat clunky and random, but you can get some enjoyment out of this.
    - Penumbra Overture is a cross between a point-and-click adventure game and a survival horror title. Terrifying, with an excellent atmosphere; it probably has the most advanced 3D graphics of any of the games on this list, almost on par with mainstream titles. Just a warning, though: you get no weapons, and there are monsters you have to avoid or evade. That may turn some people off.
    - Samorost 2 is another point-and-click adventure game, about a creature on a tiny planet whose dog is abducted by aliens. Again, if you like point-and-click adventure, you'll probably like this.

If you have a bit of spare change and you think these games might appeal to you, definitely consider dropping a few bucks on this bundle. Even if you decide to only donate one cent, if you decide that the games were worth more of your money, you can add more money to your donation later. It's for a good cause - a number of them.

But hurry - there are less than 48 hours left before the deal is done.

Alright, thanks for the heads up.

Also, World of Goo is beast. =3 I have it as a WiiWare.
