What do you think about commercials?

Are they handy? To get some drinks/use the toilet?
Or do they just annoy you?
What's your opinion?

I have mixed feelings, I like commercials sometimes, but I want them to be less long. ~_~

Yeah, they're really gotten long. It used to be you'd see dozens of commercials in a 3 minute block. Now it seems the average is 2 minutes per commercial (not commercial break). Though I don't watch TV anymore I doubt that has changed since then. It also seemed the commercial break periods had gotten longer. Ten minutes of commercials per 15 minutes of entertainment. Sometimes you'd only get 3 minutes of the show before you get another volley of commercials. The ratio has gotten really bad to the point that people look for ways to circumvent the ads. Personally, I only watch shows on the internet and have FF set up to block all ads. I don't even see the ads attached to videos. Though ads on sites like Hulu are fine since they don't take much time and you can enjoy your show.

well for me it depends, if i like really love a show i get annoyed at the freaking commercials especially those stupid condom ones, i really get annoyed at them. but sometimes i don't mind some are helpful some are fun to watch and some are inspirational especially if there's a cute guy in the commercial!! ahaha XD

I hate them more than ever. Now they put commercials not just before, but IN THE MIDDLE of the movies at cinemas! I payed 6,50 for this? Next time, I'll download from warez!

I have no problem with the concept of advertisement, but I do have a problem with advertisement that's abusive, deceptive and/or annoying.

While this is often the case with most stations. Not all have as many as others. It also depends on the time of day and even the time of year can have a effect on the amount of ads being aired.

is it weird to say that i enjoy them? i mean yeah it pisses me off that they get in the way of my shows or movies but i see them and think. HAHA, isn't that bs but i enjoy watching them. (i'm so weird XD)

Depends, if it's a funny/entertaining commercial that I don't mind, then that's fine. But if it's a group of them taking way much more time than they should, then I'd have to say hell no.

Well, I'm okay with them, as long as I'm not watching TV in China. In China, the commercials are either 10 seconds or 10 minutes long... not to mention there's always the chance of the same ad in a row. >.>

I hate commercials, because they always come across as thinking we (the viewers) are incredibly stupid. Every, single, stupid Auto Insurance commercial makes me feel like I'm 5. And the just out right ABUSE of using Rap music to make a sale, it being the worst form of music ever made.

it depends on the station and or Chanel. some of the movie channels we have don't show off commercial just movies straight then a 15 minutes wait before another movie starts.

I dislike them, especially for TV services that incur a subscription fee, but do like the odd ad break. It's the perfect time to make some microwavable popcorn, grab some drinks or take a piss.

Actually, I don't like those cheesy low quality commercials about college, going to school for people who are having a hard to because of bad decisions from the past, lawyer stuff and just random ones that are pretty bad because the script is terrible and the one doing it sounds fake.

But some are really funny and pro ^^ like the axe, T-mobile, comcast, and others ~

Complete waste, if I want something then I'll search it up, and if commercials do show me something I want to get then regardless I would probably seach for something better, I don't need ads about toothpaste when I already know which one I normally use and am not planning on switching anytime soon.

I hate them and very few actually really make me laugh. I only find them useful when they tell me about something I want to see such as a movie or a series that I watch. Or if they let me know when one of my favorite actresses or singers are going to guest star somewhere.

In many cases I'd prefer to watch a commercial than dish out bucks to watch something.

There is this really bad commercial lately with this daughter nagging her father to take the drugs being advertised. I found it to be bad form.
