Trolling

This thread was inspired by Trolls and others.

What is your opinion on this particular method of fishing. Is this ethical? Does it take the fun out of fishing? Debate things of such a nature. Other fishing topics are also allowed.

I think trolling is a good method for catching larger fish that normally wouldn't go for stationary bait. Plus it's more fun since you don't have to stand there for hours just waiting. I prefer catching squid or octopus rather than fishing though.

I'm apathetic to the manner of recreational fishing short of dynamiting the lake (I'm watchin' you, up there), but, as it tends to happen in the forums, I am about to digress.

I sincerely hope that in the near future, somewhere out on the vast plains of the Internet, a large, organized group of trolls working in concert to destroy the collective sanity of one targeted site get accused of trawling. With many such malcontent groups, we could even discuss trawls, at long last.

Anyway, I was raised by Wisconsinites, so from what I've seen fishing is primarily a pretense for drinking and/or skipping work or school. How you fish isn't all that important, then.
