Default Which DVD is the real "volume 1" of the Monster Rancher anime?

Released in 2005 (actually says 2005 on the search page of Amazon, but the product page says 1999) is this DVD called In The Beginning. That sounds like volume 1 (and in further research is actually the name of the first episode).

But another DVD, this one released in 2000 called Let The Games Begin (Vol. 1) appears to be volume 1.

Which is the real volume 1 of this anime? And why does the 2005 release ONLY have the first volume in the set (by the boxart I can see no other similar DVDs), but the 2000 release seems to have many other volumes (all with similar box art)? Is one of these a bootleg? Or are they both official? If both are official, then what's the difference in content?

The first one is the first five episodes of the one Fox released. The second one is the Japanese version of the first few episodes And there's noway bootlegs would get on a site like Amazon. Knowing you, you want the first one since it doesn't have any inappropriate scenes.
