Talking in Restrooms?

Am I the only one who finds it irritating (and a little awkward sometimes) when people talk to you while you're trying to do your business in the restrooms? Some people call it common courtesy, but I think it's kind of invading. Whether they're trying to be friendly or not, just don't talk to me until I'm finished.

No no, I'm with you on this one. Nothing makes one feel more weirded out than when you're at the urinal and some nutter next to you starts trying to make awkward conversation.

My grandmother does that whenever I go to a toilet outside of home.. she also does it in change rooms. =.="

I don't know.. No one has ever spoken to me in the restroom. Though I do hate when other people talk in the restroom. It's really loud and echoes pretty badly.. It should be a no talking or whisper only zone.

I don't think this affects girls as it does guys. I don't think there is a issue with talking IF and ONLY IF you're friends with the person you're talking too. If you don't know the person don't say a word x.x

I stay away from public restrooms, but this is one thing I do not like happening to me ever. I need my privacy and easily get embarrassed.

My mom has tried to talk to me when I'm in the bathroom at home and I'm like "No! Please don't!"

I occasionally talk in restrooms, especially when there is no one else in the bathroom but me and the person(s) that I am talking to. When there are other people in the restroom, I will usually continue the conversation. Yeah, I chalk up restrooms to being a public place, so I often continue whatever behavior I had when I first walked in. I am quiet in a library or school restroom but I am often loud in a mall restroom (if I am with friends; if I am alone, I won't make unnecessary noise).

On that same note, I don't mind it when hold their own conversations in the restroom. Like I said, I pretty much chalk up public restrooms as any other public place, so I am not about to tell people to stop making noise (especially when I am already in the midst of taking care of my business).

Although, I have never had a random person try to have a conversation with me while I was in the restroom (and I am not quite sure how I would react to that situation). And to be perfectly honest, I sometimes raise an eyebrow when people continue cellphone conversations while using the restroom.

Ill have to agree with the majority.. talking to someone while in the restroom is uncomfortable.. especally when you dont know them. I dont mind a good friend talking to me though.

Okay from a guys point of view...
A total stranger starts to talking to you while you`re doing your thing, and for that creep to be right next to you... Chyea.. I`d classify that as annoying and very invading of erm.. Personal..'moments'. I mean if it was a friend, it`s fine I guess.

Lmao, now I`m one of those people in the ladies restroom that does talk while I`m doing my thing. Welp, I only hold a conversation to a friend that has accompanied me to the restroom. But come on.. Peeing is the most boring thing. If you can talk to pass the time, then by golly speak up and tell you`re friend what you thought about the movie.. Or the dress she tried on and convince her to purchase the item !

well once when I in 9th grade, I walked into school a little late and a couple was walking towards me out the doors and this girl was walking after her boyfriend saying something like "Why are you being this way." I went to the restroom and as I was washing my hands she started to ask my advice about her bf. o_0 Never met her before and never saw her again.

Also, theres this gay bar I go to and the restroom is for guys and girls, which I didnt mind because hardly any straight guy are there. But we were all in there talking/taking pictures/etc and what we assumed was a little gay emo kid for a while, orally raped me as we were walking out because I said we should ask the DJ to put on Attack Attacks!'s cover of I kissed a girl. WTFROG he left a bruise on my lip. That has NEVER happened to me. o_o

I dont mind public restroom talk as long as I'm not in the stall crying or throwing up. Oh and as long as I dont get orally raped again.

Oh, and I typically don't like people talking in restrooms. Especially when the conversation is between several different people despite there only being like 1 guy in the bathroom.

I don't know...That has never happened to me before. I try to avoid conversation and so far it has worked.
But it would be kinda weird if that happened to me. o.o
