I hope this is the right thread to ask this, but I'd really like to try a cosplay sometime (I'm currently thinking Morgiana from Magi), but... I have glasses, and I'd really rather not get contacts. Do you guys think glasses mess up a cosplay of a character without glasses? Or does it even matter?

Well, in my opinion, it doesn't matter much, I think glasses could serve as a modification if you get everything else right
Try to avoid big nerdy & thick framed glasses & you'll be fine

@MissChurro I'm a perfectionist so I'd generally say no to glasses if the character doesn't wear them. But glasses are super adorable, so you could just say you wanted to add more 'moe' :-)

Exactly, that is what I meant, as long as you get the costume, make up & the other stuff right, it's okay to keep the glasses
