Test Drive Unlimited 2
The Supreme Ruler
of The Whole
Universe
237 hours in it for me so far and I've just started!
I just got a Logitech G25 wheel/pedal set to replace my old MoMo wheel and an xbox controller for the game. There are some issues with the PC version in the license tests that I don't think the console version has. Think hi-performance cars, bald tires, black ice, and a 1/4 throw throttle. The same fun and quite drivable cars in every other part of the game morph into the preceding when taking the licensing driving tests in the PC version. It's very frustrating when just giving the gas a tap from a stand still causes the car to do an instant 360 without moving an inch forward.
Other PC players have told me the only way to get through them is with the xbox controller. If that's what it takes, I will try. but I just can't see playing such a cool driving sim with anything but a wheel! No Twitch Pad for this driver!
If you're a PC player my driver name in the game is Krasha for Krasha Ndburn.

You`re bad at the game :P
What car are you driving? Spinning out of controll right at the start has never happened to me.
Or a PS3 controller :P
It`s not impossible to complete the story, it`s just that some of the licenses are pretty hard.
I was high up in the ranks when I stopped playing.
After doing the story, discovering all the road and being screwed over by the glitches in the Casino I got bored with it, too hard to make money at that point :P
No, the time isn't because I'm struggling. I spend a lot of time just driving around playing with the cars. I play games that way. I've never been one of those that has been beating the game as quickly as possible types, especially if there are things to do in the game other than pursue the ending. I'm in it for the long haul and plan on owning EVERYTHING! I had 350 hours in Fallout New Vegas, near that in Fallout 3, and any game like that. I'm even replaying Fallout 3- from the beginning again to play the add ons starting with Broken Steel and have to play Honest Hearts in New Vegas. I still am in freeplay on the STALKER games and have played them with every conversion and mod I could find. They have all been on every computer I have had continuously since each of the three was new. It's just how I game and how I actually live my life. The end comes soon enough. No need to rush to get there. There are nearly 50 games on my PC and another 40 on Steam so I move around as the mood strikes me.
As to the cars, I'm playing the PC version which I believe behaves differently in the license test than the console versions do. Every test has been similarly problematic using my wheel and pedals. Just today I was trying the C3 test with the XKE Jag. I can go to the dealership and test drive it and it behaves quite civilized. The same car in the license test will spin a full 360 on take off before it ever moves an inch forward. I have to feather the gas to keep it from going out of control on launch. Giving it gas on the point in a corner where you would accelerate out spins the car out immediately. Back with the C4 class test it was the same way. Remember the overtake test with the Mustang? The first car you have to pass is in the -middle of a gentle sweeper to the right. The Mustang could not negotiate that corner at anything over a crawl without sliding off the road. The lotus earlier did the same instant spin out on launch. Doing the 180 turn it would spin on the back side as soon as I tried to accelerate. Switching from wheel to keyboard got me through those. But, racing the very same cars in the competitions has no such problems and I kick butt.
A few kind acting players who don't talk and act like they are 12 and their mom's aren't watching them told me that they had similar trouble and to try an xbox controller. i just did get one so I am practicing with it. I haven't tried the G25 wheel yet and am still using the MoMo "red" wheel.
I am compiling and editing a video I plan to post on YouTube showing what I am describing because I have had so many people who don't believe the difference I am seeing between the same cars in regular play and in the tests.

Ok.
I try to beat games quick, but I still enjoy them.
People think that if you beat Portal 2 in under 6 hours you didn`t enjoy the story, which is bs :P
Oblivion, Mass Effect 2, Suikoden 5 is the only games as I can remember where I`ve had over 100 hours playtime.

On topic:
Bought Sonic the Hedgehog (1) and FlOw on the Ps store.
yeah, it's all a matter of personal preference. i watch my neighbor's 14 yr old son when he comes over to play GTA IV on my PC. (he likes the graphics and sound better than his PS3 and i think GTA IV may be "restricted access" at his house.) when he plays he really plays as if it's purely a game. he has little interest in story lines or plots. puzzle solving and character development make him want to scream. in GTA IV he goes straight to freeplay mode and will spend hours just shooting people, crashing cars, and doing stunts with cars and motorcycles. like i said, he sees it as just a game and he wants it to amuse him. even with TDU2 he gets bored with the cars after he's driven awhile. he starts out crashing by driving crazy, trying to jump things and do stunts. then he starts crashing into other cars. next he's trying to bust through store doors and gates to houses. of course you can't do that in TDU2 so shortly after that comes "Can i play Grand Theft Auto?"
he watched me play Mass Effect 2 one day and 15 minutes in he asked how i could stand to play it because of all the dialog. nothing is "happening". there is no non-stop fighting and attacking and destruction and mayhem. but, all the stuff he relishes doing for hours in GTA IV free play would bore just as bad me pretty quickly because once you've seen and done the shooting, crashing, stunting, and all the rest there's seldom anything new or different in it. and what's the challenge in capping the NPCs? they don't fight back so there's no effort or risk involved.
me? i pretend it's all "real" and like i'm the actual person playing in the game. i follow the objective to it's end but i'll wander far and wide and check out everything. i see what i can and can't do in the game. i always try to do every mission, join every faction, play every ending, and all that. i really like games where i can use my real life morals, beliefs, and life code in the game and it makes a difference.
oh yeah- to make this legit and stay on topic i also got Dirt 3 this week. it's a lot like Dirt 2 but has a new stunt driving race, more rallys, and you can unlock everything for $2.99 rather than unlock it as you go.theres also a $1.99 charitable donation DLC to Colin McRae's Vision Charity. you get his dad's 70 Ford rally racer with different liveries for it..
i'm thinking about the new Alice game, Madness Returns or whatever it's called.

You're aware that the game is region-locked, right? Meaning you can't play with Americans online. Also, the online serves will be shut down on October 7th, 3 days after Dark Souls.
You should of made a thread or something asking about the game before buying it...now we can't play. DX
Minecraft...
Alright, add me then.
But I mean, this is different though. Demon Souls is good to be played Online with other people because...Basically when you die and go to soul form, you can use the blue eye stone (I think it's called)... To put down a soul sign, which let other players invite you to their world. If you beat a demon with them you get your body back in your world. (Not the souls you lost you still have to get those.)
You can also use the Black eye stone to invade other players worlds as a black phantom and try to kill them to resurrect.
It just depends if you like to play with random people or if you have more European friends than Americans or viceversa. My European friends from another forum imported the American version because the majority of the people who got this game were Americans, so they all got to play together. I rented the game, but I might buy it since it's 15 bucks.

I`ll add you on PSN, but I won`t play any mp atm becaus I don`t have a headset.
I went into the fog where that first real boss is and died.
Then I went back to ehm place where you end up after dying against the boss from the tutorial and had 0 souls and I stopped playing :P
Figure I`ll have to take some trips around that castle before I can fight that boss? :P
