Underrated words
From the title, one could come to the conclusion that this thread is one for discussing words that are perceived underrated. If that is the conclusion you have drawn, then congratulations, you are correct. If it's not, uh... you're wrong.
Words I find underrated are:

- Nincompoop
- Poppycock
- Gobbledygook
- Humbug
+ possibly others I can't think of at this moment.

Well, I don't think that the word the gets enough attention for all the hard work it does.
I couldn't go a day without saying the at least 100 times.
Also, the word it.
That's just how my mind thinks, though.
