need a lil help picking a new anime

Well I just finished my four month journey in the Fullmetal Alchemist world.

I watched both series and the movie and I am kind of sad to see it end and i was wondering if there was another great anime like FMA and if so please point me in the right direction and the biggest thing I loved about FMA was it was not repetitive unlike DBZ.

Here are a few things I like and dislike.

LIKE: Shooter,magic,fighting,good plot and character that is not generic (hard to explain)

DISLIKE: repetitiveness,boring character and i am not a fan of Death Note and its emo style.

NOTES: I love FMA so if there is an anime kind of similar to it and i am tired of Bleach and Naruto but still love them.

And I am new here and sorry for the long question.

Anime thats similar to FMA is hard to find, FMA is unique in it's own way. I highly recommend One Piece. If you don't like One Piece you can always try watching Faiy Tail

The Higurashi anime.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Koro ni Kai and Koro ni Rei.
Psychologic horror.
It can be quite confusing, but everything will become less confusing as you watch on

Ef - a tale of memories.
Great plot and great characthers.

Think I`m gonna rewatch this one pretty soon XD
Season 2 is called Ef - a tale of melodies, though it starts pretty slow, so I put it on hold after 3`rd ep, but maybe you`ll watch more :P

Good suggestions here (even though I despise Strike Witches with a white hot passion for sexualizing little girls), but they don't really fit what he's asking for. RxJ is the only one of those that matches what he wants, although I really want to second everything there (including Durarara).

Oh, and why not D. Gray Man? It's pretty much FMA fused with a random spiritual anime, and it's very good.

I don`t watch it for the fanservice, I just think it`s awesome that little girls like that kick enemies *** XD

I really enjoyed Soul Eater but felt it ended a little flat. Fairy Tail is quite good as well.
