looking for anime suggestions

looking for an anime (not movie)
-a guy main character that's cool, rlly powerful, and not too young
-not futuristic setting (and not outer space)
-not weapon based except maybe swords are ok
-not mecha
-not too much comedy, tend to prefer serious ones
-prefer demons or atleast supernatural or magic

# of episodes doesn't matter

Hmm....Yu Yu Hakusho? Flame of Recca?

The protagonists are teens but they are plenty cool and there is comedy...but serious battles are pretty serious. Everything else about them seems to be what you're looking for. They are older shows though (90s) so if you want state-of-the-art animation, you will be disappointed. XD;
But they're still good!!

It'd help if you listed what you've already seen.

Hmm well The only anime I know with a dude as the main character; it only uses swords and magic ect. for wepons. The whole show is pretty much about a human and demon war. Also, the anime is exactly the opposite of the future. It takes place 500 years back in the Feudal Japan. Its called:

Inuyasha

it's not the highschool age ones i dont like, its the ones that seem alot younger than they supposedly are or the just downright kid ones

Kuroshitsuji! It's amazing, I think you should watch AND read it if you haven't already. Not to mention a second series, Kuroshitsuji II, is just now being aired. The second episode is released tomorrow! :3

For short it's called 'Uraboku' but it's full title is uragiri wa boku no namae wo shitteiru, and it is still ongoing also. :3

Well there is the really common ones like naruto and bleach, this funny one called kenichi the mightyest disciple and then death note (it doesn't have swords but it's serious and has demons). also bammboo blade i just finished it and it's kinda serious, has to do with kendo, but no demons. Rurouni kenshin is also good too! and samurai champloo.

I am sorry, but I cannot say nothing while you try to pass off Death Note as serious. A guy over-dramatically writing in a notebook is not serious. I laughed during ever scene in which Light did that.

How about Chrono Crusade(usually called Chrno Crusade)?

Edit: I would recommend Devil May Cry too, but they use weapons there.. Like pistols or swords. But the main character is a really strong guy.(it's about demons)

I didn`t laugh at it when I watched it(4 years ago), but maybe I`d do it now :P
Though DN is overrated imo, I`ve tried to rewatch it but I just went "meh" and didn`t bother :P
