Household-fu and you

As older members will remember, I'm downright dangerous when it comes to domestic tasks (not in a good way). A long time ago I made a thread about my near-disembowelment experience with a vacuum cleaner. Well, today I've fried eggs, and managed to get them crispy o_O.

How are your domestic skills?

Anything in the kitchen I'm great at. I can cook better than most people I know and know where everything goes in the kitchen(which is always a plus). The second I try my hand at anything else however I'm hopelessly lost. Any attempts at washing or ironing clothes or vacuuming etc just ends up with something broken.

I uh, actually took Home Ec. in Middle School, so I apparently know how to cook some food, do some laundry, and god forbid, sew something back together. I also know how to vacuum, dust, and clean T.V. screens (sorta) Not exactly a great skill set, but it works out.

I somehow broke the AC unit by changing the air-filter about a week ago. Luckily I got it fixed in 3 days. @_@

I have limited domestic skills. That's all I can say. I can pretty much clean anything alright but my kitchen skills are limited mostly to making food that's quick and easy to prepare. Someday I would like to take a cooking class or something, lol.

I vacuum my room and sometimes the whole house sometimes, i can make simple meals with a bit of help, i do the laundry (washing, drying and folding)
i am by myself alot so i am expected to do these things most of the time
and i haven't broken anything...yet

Well, frying eggs is probably the hardest thing one can ever do in the kitchen. I can bake a good cake, I can cook something, but I NEVER managed to fry those damn eggs right. They always burn and stick...

Though I don't know how to cook a lot of things, and I only cook something occasionally. And I fail at everything related to household besides from cooking. I use like half of the dishwashing liquid to wash one dish.

I know nothing of cooking, but I'm an experienced cleaner. Every weekend I mow the lawn, vacuum the house, clean the pool (sweep/vacuum/chemicals), dust my room, and a few other random tasks.

If it counts, I put a flashdrive into a computer's USB port...and it shut down...it happened 3 more times that same year, and my older brother reported no such behavior of said port...but I'm pretty good with computers.

Well, maybe computers are not considered household -today-, but in the future, computers will be in everything from your fridge to the toilet paper. So yeah, that DOES count as household...

Considering that, Eris will probably be the probably best one at household in the whole forum.

I do the bare minimum to get by...
For example, my apartment currently looks like a tornado went through it. But I can still live in it. I can cook the simplest things like noodles, stir-fry, etc. I know how to vacuum but it takes a lot of energy so I don't do it as often as I should... I know how to do laundry.

I'm great with any kind of domestic skill and I never had Home Ec class o.o though it doesn't mean I enjoy cleaning :| but I do enjoy cooking and baking sometimes and sewing sometimes ^^

Everyone is good with a microwave. Cooking certain things in the oven and on the stove is harder though. I do admit that I need someone to check on the food when I make it. I do have that bad of a perception when it comes to those things.

I cannot cook to save my life. Well, I can make simple stuff like cake or brownies out of the box, but that's pretty much it. Grilled cheese is my worst nightmare, which is why I always command my brother to make it for me.

I can somewhat clean. If I'm told to do a chore I'll do it, but I usually do something wrong and get lectured about how to do it properly later on.

The weird thing is that I can babysit quite well... or so I'm told. Well, I must be doing something right because my niece hasn't been injured during my visits.

My closet is an old broken couch, though. I tried putting it on my bed, but that didn't really work. Then I tried the floor, but I wasn't satisfied with that either. So the couch it is.

I've always wondered the same question. I can honestly say I've never made my bed before. I only use a blanket, anyway. What am I supposed to do? Fold up the blanket and put it at the end of my bed? No. D:<

Anyway, my closet is stuffed to the max with clothes, my drawers are stuffed with clothes, and my chair is overflowing with clothes. There's something wrong with that- I only wear, like, 5 t-shirts, 3 sweatshirts, and a couple of jeans.

Thanks to the fact that most of my family is incompetent and my roommate is a slob, my household skills have developed a lot more than I wish they would have over the last few years.

I still can't cook well, though.

My housekeeping skill is probably the only one deserving of an A.

I still have a few cooking mistakes though but that will stop when I get a label for the salt and sugar jars.

My domestic skills are pretty good. I can cook, clean, and take care of small children. xD
I wouldn't trust myself with lighting a fire though, I almost lit my house on fire trying to do that... o_o;;;
