It may not be as peaceful as in anime(which is more exciting with delinquents[i really hope to see one in school], here i never have/ never seen any fight, not fun~). I don't really enjoy peaceful life...

It would be cleaner, with better technology(yay), faster internets(yaay), easier to buy anime, etc..

I expect to see buildings, normally homes and aparments with business along side.

I would see people, the kind that have eyes, a nose, mouth, arms (2), and legs (2).

I would notice that there are clouds in the sky and dirt in the ground. In the urban areas would have larger amounts of people with less vegetation, while in the more rural areas would be less densely populated with more plants and more agricultural.

The more north you went, the colder it would become, and the more south you would go the more warmer and more humid it would get.

That's just what I think though.

JapaN!!!! ahhhh......my Navy Days!!!! first port was in okinawa.......can't tell the story of what i did because of the rules so just guess what a sailor on a ship for a month did when he had his 2 nights in okinawa.....same goes for tokyo. whenever we got into port i was never really the lets go sight seeing guy, i always would make my liberty buddy hit the party scene with me.

I expect to see people with eye-gauging colored hair, wearing eye-gauging colored dresses, perpetually-six-year-old-looking schoolgirls... actually, everybody dressed like schoolgirls. Pink bloomed trees that stay blooming even during autumn and winter and armageddon. Classy, expensive restaurants with mahogany furniture, silver chandeliers, red carpeted stairways and people porking out on rice from simple bowls with thin, wooden chopsticks in those places. Everybody smiling enthusiastically, all the time! AND, of course, mai waifu!

Been there. It's just as any other capitalist country, tall buildings, tons of technology and a lot of people. Only its culture is totally different and it's very interesting to learn their culture from their point of view.

From what I've learned from my trip is that not all Japanese enjoy anime. I once asked someone there what he liked and he frowned, saying: "Sorry, but I'm not a freak." Or, that's what the translator told me.
Japanese people are very shy people, but very nice too. Their food is omnomnomnom. Even the cheapest ones. They sell fawking sushi in 7-Elevens. How hot is that? I remember going there and, me and a friend of mine seeing it there, and we were like: "How much Yen did we bring again?". We ended up buying 9 packs. The joy.

There are several parts in Japan where they HATE anime, and there's one major city where they live for it. Oh yes, Akihabara, and let me tell you, it doesn't get any bigger than that. A whole city, transformed into an anime city. Cosplay girls everywhere, giant-sized posters hung over buildings, anime shops everywhere. I bet a lot of you guys would love to go t here. I know I do. I've been there. Muhaha.

Cleaner? Not in big metropolitan cities esp. the air!
If you want clean, you'll have to go to the outskirts of the cities.
Luckily before typhoon season hits, the air gets a new wave of
fresher moisture which feels really good for your lungs. Much cooler
climate and thats where the "clean" part really is. But in Okinawa
it's moderately trashy. The beaches are more cleaner than the streets of Oki.
